I might put together a beta tester program for unreleased products, send a few out to some people and get their thoughts. If I do that I'll be sure to announce it in this thread and get some people early samples if they promise to take lots of pictures and post a review on launch day - don't know for sure, lots of things to work out with that type of program.
But if I do it, I'll bring some of you guys into it.

Get me in coach. I'll gladly pay for it, I am in the market for a new case for a new WC build.

Today is quite different, with GTX 480, GTX 580, and GTX 690 out there, as well as a history of dual GPU cards from AMD, too. And since Crossfire and SLI has been made much more useful, power requirements of high-end systems have gone up, as have cooling requirements.
We'd be stupid not to address one of the main complaints about the 800D.
As for the comment about wheels, the 800D was designed to be used in one place, like a TV or a microwave. If you want to take it to LAN parties, you can, but you'd better have a strong back.
None of the Obsidian cases are designed to be ultra-portable or something. That's more Carbide/Vengeance line. Even the Graphite line has a kind of built-in handle on the front and back lips.
The Obsidian series is designed to look like a big black monolith that stands ominously in the corner of a room, quietly and reliably computing. Thinking. Judging. Learning. Plotting.

I have to say as an owner of a case *way* bigger than the 900D will be, wheels are actually *more* useful on large cases than smaller ones. As the amount of cooling capability increases on a case, so does the weight and the inability to lift it comfortably.

I'd say both derick and I have plenty of experience with these types of cases:

Our review of the entire CaseLabs Merlin lineup is coming shortly...

Haha, I had no idea what kind of can of worms I opened. I have like a dozen PMs from people like "Is it too late to sign up!" and "Here's my previous work I'd love to be involved!"

I can't get things rolling that fast, guys. It's been less than 24 hours. In addition to my regular job (working on the 2-3 year case roadmap, budgeting tooling costs, prioritizing new products by market opportunity, forecasting revenue and volumes, determining market share, and then doing that entire thing all over again for the cooling product line) I also am working on a whole bunch of internal programs you would find boring but which should allow us to launch products faster, improve quality, and convey the positioning and features better.

The Beta Program email went out last night, I copied all the PMs on it, and there's been good response so far. The SSD, Flash, Keyboard/Mouse, Audio, PSU, etc, guys are all talking about what the goals should be now. We're working on a few things:

1) What the objective is and the benefit to Corsair
2) How would the program function to meet those objectives
3) What the resource requirements would be (do we need a guy full time? Who owns the project internally? that sort of thing.)

It's not like I just start sending out cases and drop the mic and walk off stage.

I didn't disagree with that, I just said that with the 800D, mobility wasn't one of our main concerns as never intended it to be portable. Most people don't move their systems around that much, the OCN guys excluded, it seems.
Well that should have been obvious when you said that you'd think of putting up new beta testing programme, that there many things to be thought through and planned before doing so instead of just sending stuff to few people, easier said than done. However that seems like an great idea thumb.gif. Was giving it a thought to review it at several on our local sites and possibly sending message to you as due to lack of several brands in shops, Corsair has only few competetitors here especially in case's and closed loop wc stuff. But decided to restrain as at the moment you're probably already swarmed by little worms that came out of can you opened biggrin.gif And i will be getting the case either way.

P.S it's a pain to move mouse pointer with keyboard , mouse died and still waiting on new one mad.gif Fun experience nontheless
