Yay someone found our quick unboxing video. Sorry that it wasn't more in-depth, we literally took that video 25 minutes after we received our first case. We'll be doing a more in-depth overview soon that'll really showcase all the water cooling potential. This case is a water cooling paradise!

I think I'm just going to pass on the 900D and mod my girlfriends fridge instead...

This case looks really good, I love the look of the Obsidian cases. Just way too big for me, would be awesome when the new smaller versions get released.

The AF120L and AF140L use the same shroud and impeller design that the AF120 and AF140 retail do. They do differ in the following ways:

- Sleeve bearing
- Lower RPM (stock case buyers are very concerned about noise levels)
- No rubber corners
- No color swappable rings
- Impeller is grey instead of black
- Longer cables

If I remember right I think the 120mm runs around 1200 RPM and the 140mm runs around 1000 RPM, but I'll post the exact specs when I get to work this week.

HI George, thanks for that info. Do those differences also apply to the fans used on the H100i? In particular the bearing type used?

I am curious if the retail SP120's are likely to be quieter at the same RPM's than the stock H100i fans

The SP120Ls are actually a lot different, because we had to use a very high-torque motor to keep the static pressure up. A single SP120L costs 4x what an AF120L costs, primarily because of the motor and bearing changes.

The AF fans don't have to worry too much about static pressure as they're usually not pushing directly at radiators or heatsinks.

Also, here's the specs for the AF120L and AF140L

AF120L
Current Draw: .11A Max
RPM: 1300
CFM: 57.13
Static Pressure: .916 mmH2O

AF140L
Current Draw: .12A Max
RPM: 1000
CFM: 67.43
Static Pressure: .764 mmH2O

The noise level testing is still being finalized but it's pretty competitive with aftermarket fans around the same RPM.

With very few exceptions, two fans at the same RPM will perform at similar noise levels. There are very few ways to make this significantly better as it's been perfected for a long time. At lower RPMs motor and bearing noise is more apparent so that's focused on heavily.

Hey George, I have my 900d pre-ordered with NCIX.

From my understanding NCIX was one of the last to order the case (Correct me if i'm wrong). Should I expect to receive it anytime soon.. around mid april?? or will i need to wait until May to receive my case.

Thanks for staying involved with the thread thumb.gif
