[MC/Corsair] Corsair 900D "Godzilla" unveiled - Page 369

I am sitting on what you see in the picture.

I have not yet grabbed a GPU, originally went into a store for either GTX 680 SLI or GTX 690. I was then told that the GTX 690 is the better option and that it would have less risk for error over the SLI which is only marginally better. He then said if I am spending the money on a GTX 690 that I should just get a Titan and possibly get a second Titan when the price drops? Everything I read supports that the Titan is worse than the other 2 options so I am all confused.

If you're going with a 690 or a Titan - just get one card and don't worry about SLI issues. Unless you're after crazy benchmarks/bragging rights, just one Titan or 690 will game for you at max settings at a huge resolution just fine.

So hopefully NCIX will receive shipment before the end of the month and they can ship me the case... Almost tempted to just try and order one on the 16th from corsair website but am afraid of the shipping cost i may be stuck with. Since i live in Canada and it has to go across the US border.

Did anyone that ordered one of the 10 cases from corsair website live in Canada? and perhaps could tell me what they had to pay for shipping?

Not in to much of a hurry yet because the titan hydro copper isn't out yet, but when it does release in the next few weeks i will be a little more desperate to get all my components in a case biggrin.gif

You guys, I really hope you like this case. We've worked our butts off. The 900D case engineer, who is based in the US and is also responsible for mechanical engineering for some other products like the USB drives and such, has spent a ridiculous amount of time in China working with them on improving everything. Our packaging engineer is making tweaks to the types of cardboard we use to ship it, our quality control guy has basically wrapped each panel with protective film so that nobody who buys one should even get as much as a scuffed panel.

I know there'll be some failures - no product is perfect. But I want people to feel like this is the best case experience they've ever had. And when I get suggestions for making it better next time around, I want people to have to think for a second before they answer because there's nothing obvious we could do better.

The first 10 units we sold will ship tomorrow. By early next week some of you guys will have your cases, with luck, maybe one or two will get it this week.

Thank you very kindly George

This case is exactly what has been needed for a while now. A reasonably priced and available high end water case. I love the hobby and have some very expensive gear but baulked at the idea of paying $400-600 for a CL, LD or similar brand and then paying massive shipping on top, all to end up with an aluminium box with no filters.
Those cases have exploded in popularity, and though I'm sure they will stay popular, I have no doubt that the 900d will be taking many orders that would have gone to them just by default.

Now please just get on with a replacement for the 650d. 240 front, reasonable thickness 360 up top is the perfect balance for most people and an improved/ modernised 650d would be perfect.

Quote $70.78. Total was $420.77. Knowing the way UPS operates, Add 13% Tax and an additional 37% for their sketchy fees. So if I were to assume the total price will be: 420 +53% (Based on everything I have ever bought from UPS they have charged between 45-50% the value of the item for their Fees)
Total: Around $630 if you base it off of 420 or $525ish if you base it off of 350 (I will give you a full update on the final price)

That is crazy that is getting up there to caselabs price. I would just wait till it comes to a local shop.

Thanks for the quick reply thumb.gif
you're right imcrouse that is getting pretty expensive but you gotta pay to get the best. I'm interested in seeing how much it adds up to in the end.

I'm comfortable paying the extra $70 shipping no problem, its the fees you get stuck with shipping this thing across the border that has me worried. confusedsmiley.png

Keep me posted. who know I may get fed up and just buy the thing lol and cancel my pre-order with NCIX

Don't worry, mine still shows pending and I was told I placed the second order, so you've got nothing to worry about. it could be that since they are coming from china perhaps they'll first be delivered at corsairs hq in Fremont and then ship from there, generating the shipped notification at that time. I'm just speculating mind you.

Just a quick update from a local store..

I work at a Micro Center in Dallas, Texas and I have been patiently waiting for the 900D to get into our system and it finally did, about 2 weeks ago.. priced at $349.99.
Well unfortunately, 2 days ago, the price went up to $399.99 with a $20 Mail in Rebate frown.gif

Whether or not the pricing will change upon release day is unbeknownst to me.
Fortunately for me, employee pricing stayed the same biggrin.gif

(George, if for some reason this info should not be released please let me know. It is in our main system at work so I figured it is fair game.)
