I wouldn't be so concerned about this if SOMEONE was able to buy a unit but I haven't heard of any retailer with any stock including Corsair.com. Just seems worrisome to me.

George has said before that they have not been in mass production that long. Like wise, mass production doesn't mean they can make 500+ units just appear out of nowhere.

I can't speak for Corsair on what kind of numbers have been made and shipped state-side but I can speak from first hand impressions on how well the case is built as well as how complicated it is to make.

The 900D has more cuts & bends on the 5.25" drive cage than most cases have in the whole frame. If you want those cuts & bends to be done with a high degree of precision and made well; you won't be producing cases left & right.

No one should be angry with Corsair, folks should be upset with retailers who took pre-orders on products either over their initial shipment or those who made date promises before they could assure them.

I can tell you that from a business standpoint, you should never set a date till the product is en-route. As you're less likely to have a disaster at sea than you are having a manufacturing issue come up in the last month.

Make another thread in the water-cooling section and let them know what your build is hardware wise as well as what your budget is and what country you're in.

After saying "Due 5/10" for a few days, Newegg now has no date at all on their 900D page...

I'm willing to wait, myself. It's worth it...

Thanks for your patience - it's above and beyond what I could ever expect.

Is Best Buy getting these also?

Okay, gotta luv this thread more and more.
here is a deal...
Corsair, don't mass produce case, ok, so original dat was late Feb, that means, they should of started production some time before, evenly with a minor problem(they can just re fix cases)
Retailers who offered it on pre-oder, well, whose genie is out, there is no way back
Hmm, what else, ow yea, George, well he is a good guy and providing some information to us, however, ain't peoples fault George is in this frame, he just happened to be a rep of corsair on this forum(so logical he is a person hold responsible)
Shipping Philippines,Europe, Australia and gods know where else... it will in time, first retailers need to get it
Shipping directly to re sellers, well that is really bad situation and costly. Personal experience, evenly when HP ship from states to russia, it always stop by in central Europe for central hub to re arrange shipments
Let me think for a moment... Of course, quality of 900d, well doesn't matter how book cover is nice, it might be still have a bad story(bad shipments couple dozen pages ago)
Well, here is my 10 cents on current story

So as for this first part of your post

I have some good news and some bad news. Good news is that we should be in MP this week and first containers will leave next week. The other good news is I have the vendors who will receive their units first. This is done almost exclusively on who ordered their containers first.

The first shipments are going to these vendors:

Corsair.com webstore
Newegg
Gandalf (A scandinavian distributor - they sell to Komplett and others)
Microcenter

Those shipments will leave before the end of the month.

This was posted 03/11/2013. So the units have been in mass production for roughly 2 months now as per my understanding of this post by George. I understand the month on the water so we will call it one month of Mass Production and one month of shipments. Not sure what kind of work force Corsair has on these cases but I would assume it is a large one given the importance and demand for this case. I would assume output would be decent.

As for this:

I understand the complex nature of the case but assuming Corsair has a production force of 30 even at one a day production for a month (25 Mdays) should be around 750 cases. ( I am probably low-balling the work force used.. at least I hope I am.) So they should be producing them left and right. I know when our company falls behind scheduled ship dates it is all hands to the oars to try and get back on track. I also agree you should NEVER sacrifice quality for quantity. According to George himself it should have been a matter of WEEKS to clear thousands of backlogged orders. Once again if SOMEONE had cases available I would understand but NO ONE has the case available..

First off I want to say that I appreciate George and his updates. He has been the only one willing to give any info out on this case. I am sure he is giving us the info as it is being given to him. However; I have a slight problem with this comment. You would have every one get mad at the retailers for providing poor dates but Corsair should be forgiven for their poor dates? If anyone should be forgiven for the poor dates it should be the retailers, the manufacturers should be able to provide the best possible dates so should not receive the same margin of error as the retailers.

Then the second half you say no date should have been given until the shipments were en-route. I agree with you 100%. However; dates were given so when they are missed people start wondering why. I understand and I am thankful for Georges' desire to give us something to try and help ease the pain as it were. I don't blame George for giving out info (and I realize this is not even anything to do with him anymore really since it is WELL past the design phase)

The main point of my previous post is that the date seems to have slipped again with no word on why..

I assume that if the retailers had the units on hand they would be selling them so the only conclusions I can reach are that the shipments were delayed from leaving China, or they were delayed in shipment on the water.

I hope I have to eat my words and some people start receiving confirmation that Newegg or mircocenter are receiving and shipping their units in the next week or so but by the above timeline Amazon should be receiving their cases this month. I know that there are still a lot days until May is over and I would be reassured by that if the first retailers slated for shipments had received and were delivering their units. If the shipments are FIFO and the first shipments are delayed so are all subsequent shipments.

So does this mean we can expect the cases to start arriving in a week or so..........
Or does this mean Amazon read us the riot act and we had to give some cases to them to make them happy! hence the delay.......... wth.gif
Either way thanks for your continuing updates George frown.gif

This Has been an unfortunate situation, but my feeling is that the wait is almost over ! If this case wasn't so good no one would care if it was late or not ! I have had excellent experiences with Corsair in the past and hopefully they have learned valuable lessons from these problems. I'll play some games and make plans for what I want to do to this case and it will be here before you no it. Were on the home stretch guys, oh man this is going to be great!
I'm angry with Amazon for the most part, given that there was one user on this forum that just went on their webstore and bought one, while people with preorders have been waiting months. I actually linked them to this thread and they gave me a $20 discount on the case.

That was me mate... I purely got it right away because I thought they were in stock straight off the bat before I knew
How poor the launch of this cas was. If its any consolation I would not have not have bought it and gave a chance to someone else on pre-order... cause I wont be starting my build for months to com lol
