[MC/Corsair] Corsair 900D "Godzilla" unveiled - Page 480

Well, I recieved mine today and I must say; while the case is nice and farely well designed, I'm a bit underwhelmed.

Lots of steel, lot's of plastic. Not like when you open a Lian Li or the like, where the case just feels cold because of all the aluminum. The drive cages are really flimsy and fragile feeling and it's a brushed aluminum facade with plastic backing. I knew that, but still it looked better in photos then it does in person.

Again, a nice case, but I can't help feeling just a tad dissapointed.

Earlier, milan232 emailed CS and was able to get a $30 credit. I went to live chat, but they only offered 1-day shipping so I emailed a nice little blurb after and they gave me $30 credit as well. The reason (I think) we were able to get credit was because they initially said the shipping date was much earlier, then they delayed it, and then they gave no info. Considering it's shipping now, I doubt you'll be able to get the same, but who knows.

Amazon CS is pretty amazing. I will always use them before others as long their CS stays that way.

The case would have cost much more if it were mostly aluminum though. Too bad about the drive cages. Hopefully you feel better when you finish your build in it.

Mine was shipped with the same company, and lookie what was sitting at my front door when I came home from work... smile.gif

My new water cooling stuff isn't here yet, so the case will sit on that table set up to start my build until it all gets here.

Oh Yeah, I realize that. Don't get me wrong, this is a great case. Farely well designed and probably the best purpose built case I've ever seen by a mass market company. I almost went with Case Labs but with my wife working on her degree and a special needs kid, keeping costs in check is always a smart thing to do.

The drive cages though are unforgiveable. They're flimsy as heck. Out of all the case I have, including the lambasted thermaltake Level 10 GT, the ones in this case are garbage. Granted, maybe I''ll feel differently after I've installed some drives into them, but be careful. One wrong move and they just seem they'll snap.

I still haven't decided what I'm going to do, so mine will be sitting in a box till I do. My koolance gear is going in for sure, but I don't think I'm going to bother putting my 920 C0 X58 in with Haswell just around the corner. I think I've held off on upgrading long enough, regardless in gains in IPC. For me, 920 to Haswell should be a nice bump till Haswell-E in 2015.

Well I'm going to pick mine up from UPS tomorrow morning.........Didn't want to risk the ups guy having a heart attack carrying this beast, so I told them
to hold @ location.
I have a quick question for those who have this case. I'm looking to water cool in the future, but for right now plan on using either the H110 or H100i.
Any thoughts on which one I should go with? I really like the size of the H110 but wanted to use better fans to run it. I don't see Corsair carrying a good radiator fan.
The H100i has more fan options. If I go with an H100i should I swap out all fans for SP120's in a push pull or use the 2 fans that come with it and 2 SP120's?
Would love everyone's input on this......
Installing an Asus Maximus V extreme, and a 3770k. GPU is a GTX690.....I hope this case can keep the 690 a little cooler....seems to cramped and not enough air flow
in my 650D....Thanks for your inputs smile.gif
