[MC/Corsair] Corsair 900D "Godzilla" unveiled - Page 492

I finally had a chance to open my order from Amazon (waiting has been killing me) and I must say, I'm very impressed. The side latches seem sturdy so far. The design perfect for my first water cooling project. Yet, I was very sad to see my case did not make it through shipping unscratched. I have not removed all the plastic yet in order to keep it as pristine as possible, but the inside of the window on my case was not covered. In shipping the window took a battle wound it seems...

Wondering if I should reach out to someone for options or if I'm just worrying about nothing. Still, at $350~ I expected BOTH sides of the window to have protection.

Thank you and I will be paying very close attention to your build log as I will be effected if it does not fit with the RIVE.

All these mishaps with the windows is sad to see. The only thing I noticed that had been broken was the tab your supposed to push to take off the top filter. Then again I haven't really inspected the window properly. I took both sides off and put them back in the box almost the moment I took the case out. I hope not to find any surprises once I take them back out.

I'm sure George and his team will take care of everyone that's had an issue.

I like the case but its sad to see them using the obvious low quality parts in the case. They really should have used a more durable plastic for the window. The quality assurance is pretty bad. Mine came with a broken weld on the blanking plate on the bottom. I was going to remove it anyway so it was no big deal. I did not receive the bag of screws either. I would have liked to see native support for mounting pumps like they do radiators. We basically have to mod or rig it to hold the pumps.

Update for you guys.

The 900D has unprecedented popularity for a case of this price and size. Most of our major accounts sold out of their first shipment in mere hours. There are thousands of cases out there in peoples' hands now, ready to be built. Some of our accounts called in a panic to re-order, and were told they were months out from replacement shipments due to lead times and shipping times. Other accounts were wise enough to order in large quantities and should have very few inventory problems. I will no longer be sharing information about which accounts are receiving their units and when because we got a little bit of flack for it. Nothing major, but suffice to say that the guys who run your favorite places to buy computer parts read this forum - and a few of them emailed us and said "Hey, wait a sec, why does [vendor x] get their container before me?" So we won't be sharing privileged information about who ordered what and when. If you want to find out when Newegg or Amazon or Scan or OCUK or LDLC or whoever will have inventory, the best thing to do is contact them.

Now for the issues...

The 900D window "cracking" issue has had root cause completed and has been addressed in production. Some of the earliest shipments had the potential issue. For those who are curious, it was a tolerance issue with the thickness of the paint, the expansion and contraction of the plastic window due to temperature, and in some cases the torque spec on the screws to hold the window in place. All of these are fixed at this time. For those customers who get a chipped or cracked window, we will replace your windowed side panel free of charge.

Also, we identified a potential issue with the USB I/O cover that Diesel70 posted:
900x900px-LL-8f3a98f9_20130524_075527.jpeg

We have replacement I/O covers that can easily be snapped into place for anybody who has this issue - though only a few dozen production units shipped with the potentially flawed I/O cover (out of thousands of shipments), if you have one please contact our customer service or tech support and we'll ship you a replacement.

With any new product there are growing pains and early issues, we worked very hard to make the 900D the best case ever created and I think we've done that. But that being said, nothing's perfect, and I'll be keeping an eye on this thread (and my PMs) for potential issues. The 900D is a huge, complex, case with tons of parts in it. It takes about 12x longer to build one than it does to build something like the 200R, for example.

To the few of you guys with damaged or flawed cases, have confidence that I am working my butt off to make sure you get exactly what you paid for.

To the thousands of you guys who got perfect cases (and are too busy building to post in here it seems!) then happy building and congratulations! I look forward to seeing your complete builds.

Nope. I actually had some issues with taking the window off the case after pushing the button. During the build I accidentally dropped the door on the ground and that seem to have bent it back into shape. rolleyes.gif

No damage though.
