My cheap $140 case while not anywhere near as nice in build quality fit a 60mm thick 420 with fans in push pull and an 80mm thick 240 with fans in push pull with no modding, I could have used a 360 had I pulled a drive cage. My current case seems more functional to me. The Shinobi does too with a smaller footprint. Thats another pretty inexpensive case. An 800D costs more than double what these two cases do, the switch 810 too. Is it more functional? I don't know about that.
If I wanted to spend that much on a case I would have bought something from case labs already.

This case will be upwards of that. $329-$379 I think that's the range. Cosmos 2 is $349....

I'm taking a wait and see approach to the price. 250$ is the sweet spot for me, but i'm anxiously awaiting final specs. I've seen 800D's at various websites for around 220$ which isn't unreasonable I don't believe, but the MRSP may be higher than that.

I still have yet to find the *perfect* water cooling case. Perfect for me means a manageable size (that means no case labs), good build quality, lots of room for RADS, ease of use, etc. Hopefully the 900D will fit the bill.

I'm not sure how everyone else feels, but ease of access is the #1 feature in my book. Despite the shortcomings (ie the case being 70% plastic) I like the cosmos II b/c its so easy to work with. That's the reason the 900D is on my radar, the 800D was really, really great in terms of ease of use. Who wants a hassle when upgrading parts in their PC? Not me.

George posted the specs a few 10 pages back... It's over two feet tall & length wise. It's also wider than the norman case which I like a lot. Corsair quality is very good. I remember when I first got my 650D. I wanted to leave work & go home after my wife sent me a picture... 800D was 300 when it came out.

Thats the way that I feel too. Sadly I don't see it happening.

I do know what you mean though. I would love a case that I could fit two large radiators into and still have space for a couple of hdds. I just know that this bad boy is going to cost an arm and a leg.
Or you could buy a switch 810 now and buy a pedestal from Dwood. That you can buy now.
That'll fit as many rads as I'm sure that the 900D will if not more yet still cost less and I wouldn't be shocked if it were a good bit less.
I'm interested in this case but not if its in excess of $300, preferably $250.

800D build threads pop up every day bro so it's alive and well.

The Switch consist of a lot of plastic where the 800D feels 100 times more solid.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my 800D and will be moving on to a 900D upon release.

Have you looked into their Merlin series? The M8 can hold a 420 or 480 rad, the motherboard try slides out so you can put all your cards and stuff in out of the case, the doors are on hinges so they come completely off and a believe the dimensions are around that of a Switch but slightly bigger in each direction.

I also never thought I would need or want a $250-$350 case, but then I got into watercooling. Trying to cram rads, fans, res', inverters, tubing, extra cables, etc becomes a chore in cheaper smaller cases. I currently have 3 cases, my main Switch, a 650D boxed up because I upgraded from it and my original Antec 900 that I use for dedicated folding. If the 900D gives me all the features that I want in one package I will be selling all of them and buying one.

I don't know about that. I see more TJ-07 threads, way more. I haven't seen Amazon or Newegg having an 800d in stock any time that I've looked in a year. Google doesn't show many results. Its not exactly a popular case. I doubt Corsair is selling that many of them. In fact I was convinced that the case was discontinued. I'm still not sure that it isn't.

Edit: Just flipping through the case section here, the 800d isn't exactly a hot topic.

If you look through the water cooling section they pop up weekly and to me the TJ07 looks hideous esp with the non color matched interior.

The most popular case of the past few months is def the Switch 810.

I just don't see your beef with the 800D lol or why you care so much.

To the people that don't mind spending the money and appreciate the quality of the 800D then that's its core audience i guess. I was late to the party buying a 800D and i never complained about a lack of airflow because it's full of expensive WC equipment..Every 1 is entitled to there own opinion and what they think is worth X amount of $ and what isn't but i just cant agree with you.

I look through the water cooling section pretty regularly. I don't recall seeing many 800d threads. That case was never on my radar when I was researching a new case a few months back.
