I honestly love this cooler, but I think I'm gonna move on to another one soon, it just looks... A bit to bland compared to other flaming red (literally) coolers on the market.

I've never seen this before, but here's some suggestions:
- Check the firmware of the monitor, and update if necessary.
- Make sure your graphics drivers aren't bugging out on you, update them if you haven't already
- Unplug everything except the monitor from your PC
- Try different graphics cards
- Take any energy saving modes off the monitor
- Try different resolutions/DPI settings
Few questions:
- Does it happen 100% of the time?
- Does anything you do relieve it to some degree?
- Are you prepared to RMA?
- Have you rang the company?
Hope you get it sorted out, it's awful when things don't go right
!
Good luck!
P.S. Do your Menu Buttons work on the monitor? And have you got any colour calibration software/hardware like: Spyder3 ELITE?

- I was already on catalyst 12.8, but I also tried 12.6 and the same thing happens
- Tried with both a 4890 and a 7970, same thing
- No such thing with my monitor
- Tried multiple resolution from 1280*720 to 2560*1440, the spot is always there in the same place and size

- No, maybe taking the display apart would do it but I'm not sure I want to do that yet
- I just contacted the vendor, waiting for a reply.

Awww man, sounds like a duffy. All I can say is, wait for the reply, if there's no fix, RMA and maybe go with a Shimian instead? Heard good things about them!

I just fixed the problem.
I've previously been able to avoid noticing the black dot but I recently noticed another problem. the glass was beginning to slide down such that the frame no longer covered it all.
So i decided to open the screen and try to fix it and perhaps at the same time get rid of the black dot.
Opening the display was pretty easy; there's 8 screws (4 on top and 4 on bottom) that you have to remove and the side have plastic clips (just use a flat screwdriver to unsnap them)
With the screen open I noticed the the glass had indeed slided down, so I removed it (it held in place by tape on the left and right side.
I now had access to the bare LCD screen and I could see the black dot was in fact a little plastic particle. So I took a can of compressed air and blasted it off.
I also took the opportunity to clean the glass and found out that it was surprisingly sharp (got a pretty nasty cut on my finger)
Not everything is back together and the monitor is better than it has ever been.
