Power supply recommendations.

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a power supply to power this build:
i5 3570k (overclocked)
asrock z77 xtreme4
1-2tb hdd
128gb ssd
8gb of the overclock's favorite samsung ram (light overclock)
gtx 570 (overclocked)
3-5 fans

I was thinking about buying a corsair tx650 but I'd listen to some inputs before I make my decision. I'm trying to look for a psu that will power this system for under $100, modular is a plus but it's not a necessity but it has to be reliable.

Sorry, but are you more leaning towards a 660ti, or a 690? Makes a bit of a difference.

The gpu will be in the $300 range, so 660ti-670.

Ok then, I didn't know if you were going to try to overclock a 690. For that system a solid 500W would be more than enough. Since I'm partial to PC Power and Cooling I'll list a few.

Right now Newegg has a 15% off promo code for all PCP&C PSUs: PCPBTS15. All PCP&C PSUs also have a $20 mail in rebate.

500W:

600W (Only $10 more):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703036

Modular and they have a single 46A 12V rail, so go crazy with the overclocks.

I'm running the 600W and I haven't had a problem with it.

This would fit your build better and is modular: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182261
post #10 of 12
I think modular power supplies arent as good. The cords fall out and get lost, and can not be recovered unless by skill. Might want to think again.
