ASUS Sabertooth Z77 TUF Armor - Does it help with cooling?

I'm building a rig and was curious if the ASUS Sabertooth Z77 thermal armor actually helps as opposed to a motherboard without armor. I watched a video where the owner of a Z77 tested three different scenarios where he took off the armor, tested the temps, put on the armor, tested the temps, than put the fans in the armor and tested the temps.

Out of all three with the armor with fans it was the lowest temperatures. But I read on other places that the armor is just a look, nothing more. Any inputs?

I've owned one and took it straight off because I don't like a layer of cheap plastic covering my motherboard. They're not going to help with temps, that's for sure but how much it hurts them, I'm not sure.

This is what I used the little fans for and got awesome Mosfet temps:

I figured and plus what others said, I went ahead with the P8Z77-vPro instead
