How does that make anything "worth it"

Any cheap case(~$200) will get the job fine. I'd save the rest for something more important if I were you.

I would highly urge you to reconsider. Unless you are filthy rich, I think you will regret it. Just because you have 600 dollars laying around, I would at least highly urge you to look into other things you could do with your money. I have become obsessed with things like cases or new processors or things that were a change just to do something different, and I look back and wish I had the money that I spent. I don't know what case you are looking at, or what case you have, but there are a lot of good cases way under 300 bucks that are good for what you are cooling. The 600 dollar case will be fun at first, then you'll be used to it, and it wont be fun anymore, and you wont have 600 dollars. These types of threads on OCN are usually made after someone has made up their mind, so I'm not sure if my post will be helpful. Stop thinking about it for a couple weeks, and I bet the urge dies and you are onto something new.

Depends on the owner. But some of the more expensive cases will last a long time. Case Labs for example would be a case you keep for a very long time; you can do so much with it.

Take a look at the 900D. I may replace my 800D for it if the images aren't fake smile.gif

$650 on a $1700 computer is a bit much. Now if it was $650 on a $3000 computer ... Go for it!

Of course, as an ABS Canyon owner, who am I to judge anyone about going overboard on an expensive case. thumb.gif

So I hope I wouldn't find it dumb in a couple months.

I didn't even see this post. This alone should tell you that the 600 dollar case is an "in the moment" purchase, and you will want to sell it later once its novelty runs off. Put the 600 dollars in a locked safe and leave it there until the excitement runs off. You'll be thrilled to still have 600 bucks.

BTW, what case do you have today?

if you planning on keeping the case for a long time. then yes buy it. I would suck if you sold after a short period of time though!

wast of money IMO id rather throw the money at sli or buy ssd's case may be cool, but its kinda like throwing $600 under your bed that you are not ever aloud to have again, because most likely this monster will be sitting under your desk. my tops id pay for a case if i had money is $150- $200 and put the rest into upgrades. u can find a greak water cooling case with lots of options for half the price, just saying.

The case would have to be very unique for me to even consider ever putting down money like that on one.

Not only would it have to be aesthetically pleasing, but packed with features and highly durable for me to get my moneys worth out of it. Otherwise i'd just think the seller would be taking me for a fool.

But no, in almost all situations, i could never spend that kind of money on PC case, far too many affordable and high quality alternatives to justify it.

Crazy for wanting it? No. Crazy for actually buying it? Possibly.

You're right that there is only a handful of manufacturers that make cases in this price range, and from my limited experience, they're all worth every penny. However, what are you going to have to sacrifice to get that case? For example, I wouldn't have bought my Soldam if I had to get a low-end CPU and GPU to put in it. But if you can get top of the line hardware to put in your top of the line case, go for it!

Also, the case is the most enduring part of your system and it can be used pretty much in perpetuity. Get a great one and make it last 10+ years...it's a pretty good return on investment if you ask me!
