I'm not claiming that one is better than the other. Also, there is 3D.

Point is whatever game he is playing is likely availble on consoles. Same assets only difference is he is probabally using MSAA and has it set at a higher resolution.

If I was responding to my post I would point out some really cool mod. wink.gif
Its simply a triple monitor setup, or rather triple projector on a curved screen, which you can't do on consoles. Technically its a different resolution which you stated in your post, and most of the time it will only serve to make the game look prettier, but there are a few examples of when it can change the experience.

Consoles do have racing sims, such as Gran Turismo and (I think it is?) Forza, and you can use a racing wheel, but if you want to use the cockpit view it is very limited in what you can see. Without a triple monitor setup, your field of view is very limited. Heres a better example with actual gameplay of something that you cannot experience on a console (by the way, the most realistic racing sims are PC only):

I don't say this to be offensive, but consoles have, in general, a "shallower" gaming experience, for lack of a better word, overall.
But that's just me. I like em both. Depends on my mood.

Is a game like Ninja Gaiden where you are forced to master the combat system really any shallower then anything you listed?

Why do people keep looking at the supposed hardware for next-gen consoles and point out how it pales in comparison to what's in their PC? Aren't consoles much easier to code for, since it's only one set of hardware/OS, unlike PCs. And with no overhead on a console vs. a PC and better optimizations, isn't a 1-to-1 comparison of the paper specs irrelavent?

Or they like the feeling of superiority.

Either way, its dumb.

I've yet to play any PC game that comes close to the fun I had playing Persona 4. Hands down. But I don't use my PC for gaming often, I use it for everything else except gaming. It's amazing how many people forget a PC can do more, much more then play a video game. Yet those same people chose to fight over a gaming console sporting 8 year old hardware.

Sometimes..! Nah it's good for GPGPU projects and rendering. I do play the odd game on my PC, mostly with friends.

No, PCs are the king of shallow games as well, even in general.

I doubt you can breeze through most games on their hardest difficulty without some sort of strategy no matter the time spent playing them.

I think you are confusing your lack of interest in games for a brash generalization of games that you probably haven't played.
