Sapphire HD 7850 Help

Thread Starter
Hello fellas well I just recieved my Sapphire HD 7850 from Superbiiz.com for $206.99 which was heck of a deal. I would have gotten OC version but it was out of stock. But when I received i got a different model than which i expected. I got the Sapphire HD 7850 Dual X instead of the other one.

Dual X:

Non- Dual X:

Now my question is what the heck is the difference with both. Ive looked around but still dont know what to think. Please shed some light to me. I feel like this model is the latest model for this GPU from what their website stated.

Thanks for the input and help.

Dual X probably uses 920/1250 clock speed while the non-dual X uses the standard 860/1200 clocks

Would you see a noticeable difference between the two?

You got the better card. Even if everything else were the same (but your card is probably clocked at 975MHz core out of the box vs. 860MHz for the standard 7850), your card has a dual-bios switch, so you can wait until some intrepid soul find or makes an 1100MHz bios for your card (or even faster, if your card can handle it), and flash it, so you won't need stupid overclocking software. I flashed my Gigabyte 7950 card with a Gigabyte 7970 bios and now it runs at 1000MHz core instead of the 900MHz core speed it came with. Also, the memory is running at 1375MHz instead of 1250MHz.

You got the best 7850 card I know of, so enjoy, and look for faster bioses for your card. You'll probably have to flash it using the ATIFlash from a command prompt, but at least you can flash it, and safely with that dual-bios.
