Idea's to fully bleed system

Hey All

my system has just been completed, and leaktested, but im having a little trouble getting the last air pockets out, probably because of the way things are mounted..

Any advice on how to get the last pocket of air out the reservoir




The Radiator is external mounted, and is a Supernova 1260. i have placed a fillport on top of the radiator, but air don't seem to go to the tube, and stays in the reservoir instead..

The reservoir is an EK Multioption x2 150, and the tubes inside the reservoir is fully submerged.


The airpocket is only visible when the pump is running, when i shut off the system, the reservoir fills

Shake it, tilt it, turn it upside down if you have to. Just get it into your res and then open the top. thumb.gif

The system is fully bleed, in regards to the blocks, and the radiator.. i would just like to if able, to completly fill the reservoir, and have the air escape out the external radiator with the fillport..

Sometimes having that extra bit of space is a good thing, as both water/air expand/contract based on temperature. Having your loop 100% full with absolutely no air (well, at least nothing visible) would potentially allow a pressure buildup that could, in theory, make your fittings and other areas much more likely to burst. The solution is to leave your res slightly less than full, since it provides room for expansion/contraction, as you have seen.

However, if you really want to have it 100% full, it may not be a terrible idea to get a pressure relief valve and mount it externally with a short length of tubing between it and the reservoir, so that the water vapor released under pressure exits outside the case rather than inside. The specific Koolance pressure valve I linked to is designed to be mounted in exactly this manner, and in fact takes the place of the "stop fitting" for the fill port, which means that you don't need to have separate fill-port and pressure-relief tubing runs.

I wish I would have thought more about this before I ordered my parts, because now I want one doh.gif
Also, the newest Koolance inline filters look really nice, not as gaudy/cheap/big/ugly as the prior versions, at least IMHO...
