Watercooling, coolant and Tim. - Page 12

If I got SLI (and watercooling) on the ASUS Sabertooth X79 would it block the PCI Express slots as I am using one for a sound card? Would it be better to get the asus xonar ST (PCI Slot) instead of STX (PCI Express Slot)?

Edit:
I just found that using the first slot at all covers both x4 slots. But the motherboard has 3 gpu slots but the third is the brown one on the end and I don't know if being on the bottom of the board that it would have enough space to fit.

Sabertooth has 2 slots that run x16 at 16; the bottom one runs at x8. That said, remember that a water block is slimmer than the air cooler and there are two x1 slots between the two SLI x16s. Even with the big air coolers you have one of the x1 slots available as well as the x8 at the bottom. The air coolers cover the first x1 slot and the legacy PCI slot.

I know that there is 3 slots, but wouldn't having the sound card in the bottom slot throttle my 2nd card if I got a second GPU? Also it being on the bottom of the board, would I even have enough space before the card hits the PSU?

I've only been able to find one good comparison with this rad. Here is how it performs with fans at 700rpm. Here is how it performs with fans at 1500rpm.
You can also get 25mm fans with higher static pressure than what was used in that review at a reasonable speed.
Here is a thread with a guy using a single 120mm Monsta on a 3570k and GTX670 with very reasonable temps with a pair of Corsair SP120 fans.

Just got onto a computer to read those, you get about 2-3C better with the extra length depending on the RPM. Not bad, might as well have better temperatures if space will allow it.

I just found another watercooling website in Australia smile.gif, they don't have many items that I want but they have these cool fittings.

Monsoon FC compression fittings.

Edit: PCCaseGear.com just got a nice colour selection of monsoon compression fittings 1/2 ID 3/4OD for Pre-Order smile.gif. All the colours are in six packs, no singles. Still good because you get the special wrench.
