This build has been slowly evolving for over a year now, i tried to document most of changes and for now im pretty satisfied with the results, so i think its time to post a log smile.gif

Here is the list of hardware used in this build:

Intel core i7 2600K
Asus Sabertooth z77
Fractal Design Core 3000
Evga GTX570 SLI
PC Power & Cooling Silencer MKIII 600w (Replaced with 750W Ultra X4)
4Gb Muskin Silverline DDR3 1333
128 Gb Plextor M3 SSD
1 Tb Hitachi HDD
Coolit Eco CPU Cooler
NZXT Airflow Fans (140mm and 120mm)

First of all here is the picture of what this build looked like when i just put it together:

First thing i did - i modded the front panel. I dont like stock front panel mesh too much so i decided to replace it with a solid picee of acrylic with round vents that expose front fans to give a case more solid look:

I used sheet of matte acrylic from tapplastics.com and a 4 and a quarter inch hole saw to drill the holes:

to mount the acrylic i used double sided 3m tape, after installing the acrylic the whole front panel got spray painted with flat black:

then original fractal fans got replaced with these NZXT Airflow series Fans

Front panel cables got fully sleeved:

Power supply got fully sleeved as well:

New case feet:

Edit: November 30th

New Psu for SLI

I got a second 570 couple weeks ago and my Silencer MK III needed to be replaced with smth beefier. I got a killer deal for 750W Ultra X4.

http://www.techspot.com/images/products/power-supplies/org/2011-11-15-product-8.jpg

Obviously it got fully sleeved with white black and purple paracord.

I will transfer my Silencer MK lll to my Girlfriend's machine which i am working on right now. biggrin.gif

Front intake dust filter

I found this dust filter from some old cooler master case i used for one of my friend's buld:

So it fits very well into my front panel. This will finally prevent people from sticking fingers into front fans biggrin.gif

Vertical HDD/SSD Mount

I only got 2 drives installed and I just dont like the way stock hdd cage looks with only 2 drives installed so i made a custom bracket to mount drives vertically. It also significantly improved airflow:

IMO it looks way better this way smile.gif

8 pin cable cutout

I really dont know why fractal didnt release core 3000 with this essential feature. There is really enough space for it. But hey, dremel and drill are your friends smile.gif

Corsair H60 2013 Edition

Got this baby on sale from us.ncix.com. I really like thicker smooth tubing:

This is pretty much it the project is complete.

I want to thank OCN for MOTM nomination! thanx guys its an honor to be part of this awesome community thumb.gif

That is awesome mate. It looks super sleek and I am digging the front panel mod. For such as simple mod it completely changes the appearance.

Looks amazing! How much sleeving did you use for the PSU, and how long did it take? I have the same one, and eventually plan on sleeving it.

Of course, it's looking superb. Not sure if you done anything to the i/o shield but I'd paint it completely black. In fact, just few days ago I bought a can of Plastidip rubber coating and painted mine, needless to say it looks so much better and you don't even have to remove the sticker from the shield.

I took the example from lowfat:

What was the process of spray painting that acrylic front panel? Did you just spray on the flat black paint no problem or did you have to prime it/clearcoat and such?

i didnt measure exactly how much sleeving i used but i had like 30 feet of black for the front panel cables and fans, 100 feet of white and 50 feet of purple, and after finishing everything i still have a whole bunch of white and purple and some black remaining. It took me the whole day to sleeve the psu though biggrin.gif

actually i just sanded it very lightly and spray painted it with RustOleum flat black, did 4 light coats. No priming and stuff..
