Want something really mind blowing? get a 5x1 like l88bster, that will blow your socks off!

I'd recommend 3x 27-inch IPS (4320x7680) or 5x1 27-inch IPS (if you can handle the cost) or 5x1 23-inch (5400x9600). 3x1 27-inch 1080p (3240x5760) is underwhelming and the image quality isn't acceptable at all (to me). If you want even more jizz inducing nerd-pron then get 9x1 23-inchers, 3 at the bottom, 3 at the middle and 3 on top. You're gonna need some serious hardware though, whichever route you choose to take.

Budget = variable but somewhat limited. I'm not dropping £1000+ on a new screen setup, by any means, nor further upgrading my rig. Upgrading my monitor setup will be my last upgrade for quite some time - up to 2 years potentially.

I've been looking at this honestly:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-165-SA&groupid=17&catid=1120&subcat=

or 3 average priced 23-24" monitors for eyefinity (approx. £130-£150 each)

Those are excellent screens willibj, they're not VESA compliant though, good luck getting those into portrait mode.

This 27" would be my only (or rather primary) screen if I went with it.

Getting 3 monitors I would be getting 23 or 24" monitors, decent, but not top of the line.

And I'm almost 100% that I would go landscape if Eyefinity with 3 screens. If I could afford 5 screens, it would be portrait, but for 3 screens I want the wrap-around effect.

I was doing surround at 7680x1440 until my power supply on my left monitor went out today hr after I received. but boooyyyy was that resolution and surround glorious.

thats what blew me away before I started wiping up my tears of sadness from power supply blowing.

I had a dell U3011 (2560x1600) and loved it, but had to sell that and my old rig at the time because of money issues, so when i built my sig rig, i had the choice of going back to 2560x1600 but chose to go the eyefinity route, and bought 3x 24"1080p monitors, i loved doing simple things on the internet like browse the web, have multiple windows open etc, but gaming i think it sucked soooooo bad, so i sold all three monitors, and my 6990 and bought a gtx690 and 27" korean ips monitor 1440p, and as soon as i turned it on i was happy again, i would never get eyefinity/surround for gaming use. and never played on a 120hz monitor but i could already say it wont compare to the higher pixels in 1440p/1600p.

I'm doing Portrait. I hate the "wide" effect with Landscape mode and it also taxes my GPU a lot more. I can play BF3 Ultra with Portrait Eyefinity, but when I switch to Landscape, it is a lag fest. I think it has to do with Portrait being close to 16:9 and 16:10 ratio, while Landscape is something like 48:9 ratio. My monitors being only a foot and a half ~ 2 feet away from my head may also contribute to why I would prefer Portrait a lot more.

If you play more MMOs or games with a lot of vivid landscapes, you may want to consider IPS monitors. It also helps when you're viewing a movie far away or from a different angle. Otherwise, the cost of a single IPS monitor could probably buy you 3x monitors. My HP ZR2240w cost me $300 while I got a nice deal from Woot.com with my 2x HP ZR22w + dual monitor stand for only $280.

Here is what my setup looks like, but I have fixed the gaps and color differences since then:

Edit: The only crappy part about Eyefinity in Portrait is that when you are watching a movie or a show and it has subtitles, it gets cut off if you do Bezel Compensation. If you turn Bezel Compensation off, it doesn't become seamless anymore. It's not a big gripe, but it can get annoying if you watch a lot of anime/Asian films like I do.

What game is that?
Vindictus. It's one of those Free-To-Play Nexon games, but it's quite addicting when you're all built up after years of playing and you make friends to raid with. wink.gif It's is more skill and gear oriented towards end-game, but I'm sure a lot of action MMOs are the same.
