I noticed that my bios was old but even though I updated it, it still won't boot. frown.gif

Also, when I run safe mode and it starts to list the drivers, it gets to Classpnp.sys then crashes. I did a search on Classpnp.sys and found people with the same problem with multiple solutions but none worked for me. frown.gif

Have you tried to repair with the windows disc?
Thread Starter
I don't have the windows disc with me. Troubleshooted some more. BIOS recognizes the RAM @ 1600MHz and the CPU so those to are working fine. It has to be the mobo. I disabled all the hardware devices onboard (LAN, ASMedia, USB, Audio) and still nothing. The driver Classpnp.sys is the problem. From my readings its a driver used to validate whether or not any hardware is ready for windows to boot. A number of people have had this problem and there were a number of fixes (enable IDE vs AHCI, change gpus, change ssd or hdds, replace mobo) all of which I have done except the mobo one. Very frustrating.

well then if it is a driver then it is related to the windows install itself so i think what you need to do is get ahold of a copy of windows 7 (the same version your running as in pro or home prem...) it can be a buddies cause u should have the key for your still and do a fresh install... not much hope at this point... in fact you could go as far as to even try a new hard drive... or an old one that you know works at this point.... wipe it and fresh install... see if that helps...

ofcourse just set all your ram back up and for now i would just leave one gpu in the time being... not that it should cause a prob but dont need any other tiny variables... good luck:thumb:

I have a fresh install of windows 7 on a thumb drive and it gets to the same screen and bsods and that's with everything possible unplugged. It's looking more and more like its the mobo.

you should still be able to get into the windows repair through the thumb drive.

I've come to the conclusion that either all my ram is bad or my mobo is bad. I'm going to download windows 7 again and burn it to a disc and try that.

This is really frustrating. What could possibly go wrong while the computer is in sleep mode?
