Maybe Lowe's should sue Home Depot because they're often next to each other and *gasp* both sell

Naah, 3 years is too little. They have an incredibly huge and - often blindly - loyal fan base. I'm guessing somewhere between 5-10 years.
I do, however, expect a sharp decline in their market share after the initial iPhone5 release ... given that they will be dealing with Google's new flagship and Samsung's soon after. Not to mention HTC and the potential rise of Windows Phones/Tablets/Laptop-tablet hybrids thanks to Windows 8.
Yeah, Samsung grossly underestimated Apple when they were producing designs similar to Apple's and paid a very dear price.
Apple have been doing the same thing for years and it works well for them because most of their customers are loyal; however, if they don't change things soon; they might be in for a huge crash lol. Their notebooks/desktops will probably keep them afloat for a while until PC makers stop being so freaking cheap and improve quality (and remove their hell-sent bloatware )
