Maybe, or maybe their test lineup is better inclined towards Nvidia wink.gif

I'm not totally understanding why the question is a 660ti vs. a 7970. The 670 and 7970 are similarly priced so isn't that the comparison? And in which case the 670 would be the best card for BF3 for all resolutions up to 2560x1200 when it gets close. Even then I would favour the 670 which draws less power and runs cooler and has adaptive vsync.

Many people on OCN name off top tier cards blindly, when asked and it may not be what you need. If you game at 1080p or less a 660ti is just fine. If you game at 1440p or 1600p then a GTX 680/7970 will be the better option. A 7970 at 1080p is overkill, however the choice is yours.

A 660 ti is $300, a 7950 is $330, a GTX 670 is $400, a 7970 is $450, all can run BF3 well. These are avg prices, you can catch deals/rebates if you look hard enough.

You can't go wrong with any of them. The choice is upto you. As for The differernce between brands I reference you to this warranty comparison. Keep in mind that the other difference in their prices is because of factory overclocks, which can be done yourself with help from these forums.

3 day old review, oc vs oc, recent drivers.
If 7950 > 660TI, well...

Yes, but the 660ti did just fine.

EDIT: Also would like to add the HardOCP is the premier GPU reviewer in my book.

Looks through OP, doesn't see anything about fine.
But you're correct, it did just fine.
