Usually the -70 go between 350-400 price range when first released, what do the -80 go for? Probably around 500-600 price-tag? Also, would a 780 be too powerful to run with an Amd Phenom IIx4 965 3.4 processor or probably not?

I know the 780 hasn't been released yet, but I would like anyone who has pretty good graphics card knowledge to know how strong the 780 probably will be. Also, it seems Nvidia has been lowering the watts usage in their newer series cards. I noticed the watts usage in the 600 series cards were less than 500 series, will that continue to be the trend so people have smaller electric bills? I'm all for less wattage use and more power, I don't know how they are doing that tho.

Well since the 780 doesn't exist yet cant really answer that.

Overclock that 965 anyways!

Edit: Maybe the 780 will be crazy powerful and the 965 will bottleneck or maybe its only 5% better then a 680 and you will be fine if you overclock your 965 biggrin.gif

I've had problems trying to overclock my Amd Phenom II x4 965 3.4ghz. When I do it always crashes in game.

Using a Corsair H50 cooler. I just overclocked it to 3.8ghz in bios with everything sets at auto and set it at 19x multiplier. I've tried 20x multiplier in past, maybe I can't run at 4ghz and that is why it crashes?

Really? I got my old 965 to 4.1 with a hyper 212+

What motherboard do you have?

I wouldn't use auto for voltage settings. Its never very accurate and you can only oc so well on auto.

How do I change voltage with this motherboard? I don't even see an option and I don't know how to change it. It's confusing in the bios. Do I want to go higher on the voltage? I don't know where its located. So, are you saying I probably could hit 4ghz or 4.1 possibly 4.2ghz if I find out where I change the voltage at?
