Here's my first attempt at a chiller - Page 3

Well, I'm happy to report that my chiller is eating up the heat when ran with the chiller only. Removed rad and res this evening and test ran it. Had to take apart a couple times to make sure loop was filled with minimal bubbles. Also had to mount the block side ways. Once I got this figured out though, it's performing awesome! Right now with no load I'm at 15 15 9 9 on realtemp. Here's a pic of the set up now:

Temps are falling about 1*c every 5-10 minutes. I will prolly need to look into a controller from mindchill.

Well, my rig has become unstable in some way. When I run Prime95 it will fail all 4 cores in about 15 minutes. But I can say that after 15 min of full load it didn't get over 32*c.
Not sure why it's unstable now. Thought it was my psu, but I just removed 1 high power fan and a water pump and am running other circulating fans at 50%. CPU is about 4 years old now though and I've been running it oc'd the whole time. I have a wishlist made on newegg atm that I will be buying soon that is being built around an I7-3770K. Will be interested to see how it does in this new rig.

What is actual power draw at the moment when under load, not power used in 1 hour. That way we know better about what you are drawing from the wall when tec`s are on.thumb.gif

Maybe you don`t understand my question, is your psu drawing 500-600- 700- 800watts at any given time, not KWH which is average amount of power consumed in 1 hour. BTW your cost predictions are way high, 7.87 kwh times the standard electrical rate of 14.39 pence(which is the higher rate compared to economy rate of 8.54 pence per) works out to roughly 1.1 pounds per hour. Are you sure you have the meter on the correct setting because that sounds closer to a weekly or daily setting, cannot tell by screenshot because it is so blurred.

umm i wasnt awnsering your question i was just saying somthing, and i didnt know you pay my bills? 0.36p per kw and from 12am-7am 0.16p.

0.36*8=(you figure that one out)

According to your "fact" of drawing 7.87kw from the wall it must mean you have 120 volts coming in at 65 amps draw or 240 at 32 amps. You would need a # 6 set of supply cables to supply that kind of power. Considering you are using 320 Meanwell and a small Antec psu I find it highly unlikely you are drawing anywhere near what you think, more like .787 kwh. If I am wrong I apoligize, but if you possibilly misplaced a decimal or other calculation at least admit it because you asked us to make our comments and do expect the same respect back. cheers.gif
