Conclusions

After the excellent cooling performance shown by the WATER2.0 Pro, we were expecting that the WATER2.0 Extreme would barely reach the same performance level. But, even in “Silent” mode, it outperformed our former champion by two degrees Celsius. In “Extreme” mode, it kept our CPU four degrees Celsius colder than the WATER2.0 Pro, establishing a new mark to be beaten.

The Thermaltake WATER2.0 Extreme is amazing. It has an outstanding cooling performance even in “Silent” mode (when it is really silent). It is relatively easy to install and uses less internal space in the case than typical high-end air coolers. Its only drawback is the price tag. But if you are looking for the best, you will need to pay for it.

I'll take a couple degrees and get Corsair anyways since they have built a good reputation with customer service with us enthusiasts. Especially when they replaced that guys whole computer when his H50 leaked all over his system.

This is exactly what I was thinking this morning on my way to work. I am looking to upgrade my "aging" I-5 750 and was contemplating a closed loop.

I wonder how TT customer service is going to be with these loops. I haven't dealt with them before so have no prior experience.

This might sway me more towards corsair. (Then again might just put up the extra $$ and do my first watercooled rig)

How's the pump noise on this guy? Vs. other comparable coolers such as H100 or Asetek coolers?

The way I look at it. What has TT ever done for us? I mean of course they release products they claim is geared to us but to what extent? In general, buying a TT anything is like going to autozone to buy a fart can for your car to make it sound "cool". Corsair has joined these boards to interact with us. Corsair has listened to our advice, our requests and pleas and built upon it. TT gave us....the level 10 case that cost an arm and a leg for no practical use or reason.

I'll go corsair any day of the week.

I vote corsair TT aint that reputable when it comes to customer service and the fact is as big as the rad is it's not really a noticeable improvement over the H-100 and it was the last out the gate, plus it also have noise and pump problems so i would be very weary buying something from them
post #50 of 122
Man there's some serious hating in this thread.....

I was excited to see a CLC with a decent radiator personally.....

I have two of the extreme units running now and they are working well enough that I would put them in my next build. The flexible tubing was a must for my application as was the lower profile pump. The software control is also nice, and the cheap fans I use daisy chain together so the 2 connector limit didn't really impact my build.

These units feature a nice improvement in mounting bracket design over the Corsair/Antec units - a snap ring that fastens the mounting bracket to the pump. Yes you no longer have to worry about getting the pump in place while wrestling with that bracket ever again....

I can only hope the warranty support is decent if I ever need it.
