do what beret said, instead of clicking R at the begining of the CD agree to terms (F8) and select the partition windows is on and then click (at the top what ever it says for repair most likely R.) and thats the repair you want to do. all your files and settings will be the same, though some of my drivers were missing..

I had thought that I lost the OEM key for a while then I found it and the copy I made so I stuck the sticker to the side of my case and put the photocopy one back.
