Pentium G630

ASROCK H77 mb

DDR3 1333 4 GB

MSI HD 7770

If you're going to get a new system, I'd probably step it up to an i3 seeing as his budget is $200 for just a GPU and he could sell some of his current stuff. Even then a i3 2100 isn't too much more smile.gif

To be honest, best bet is to use your budget better. Balance out your 240 on a better stuff to last you untill you build a better rig. Here is a rig overhal thats around your budget.

I have found a spare AMD Phenom II X2 550.....will replacing my Phenom 9650 with this Phenom II X2 550 benifit my current system with the HD 7850 on board??

Will it help relieving the bottleneck effect that would be due to HD 7850

In short is Phenom II X2 550 + HD 7850 better combo than Phenom 9650 + HD 7850??

if yes then i would get that spare Phenom II rightaway...(its virtually for free as its a tradeoff exchange with a friend of mine....my cpu for his) biggrin.gif

I'd say so, the only game where you might lose perfomance would be GTA IV seeing as it loves quads.. Even then every other game would probably prefer the Phenom II.
You can also overclock the Phenom II quite a bit, and it has the chance of unlocking to a tri/quad core making it an even better choice! Is it a BE (Black Edition) 550?

since you are in India where HD 7850 is out of your budget get a GTX 560.

Yeah most games will run faster on the Phenom II X2 550. Get a good cooler like coolermaster hyper 212 plus and overclock it to 3.8 - 4.0 Ghz with a bit of voltage tweaking.

wait for a couple of weeks. The AMD price cuts will soon reflect in the Indian market. Definitely you will be able to get the HD 7850 for 14 - 15k.
