I'd vote for the second option. But Martin's tested a slim MCR rad and got some good results also (think they are 30FPI) and it did well with a push config. I also used slim rads in two of my builds (the Hardware labs ones) in tight spaces with push/pull and pull only config. So they work; just not as good as the thick rads.

Sounds good Rognin, thick rad in push/pull it is. Last but prolly not least, lol. In regards to airflow in my case (switch 810 which I've failed to mention so far I think), I've seen alot of people intaking into the case with the top and bottom rads and the only exhaust being the rear fan next to the io ports.

Is this really the recommended setup? Not sure about this but maybe exhausting out of the case on the top rad would be better?

Nope, been there done that. Had a 650D (Inchoate) and had a 200mm phobya pulling in fresh at the front and top and rear (140.2 and 120.1 respectively) rads as the exhaust rads, they became much less effective (although still able to cool a 2600k and two 580's to marginal temps for noise level). Pulling in ambient air on any rad is always better. So having top and bottom pulling in gets you two real good things. First fresh air for all your rads, second positive air pressure which equates to less dust and more air flow (even if it's warm).

Edit: Some of the parts in a puter can go to 60c easy. What's a 15c delta to ambients gonna do?

Why not get a 420 rad and take advantage of the given space? And XSPC EX420 is 36.5mm thick and will easily fit push pull fans, performance is fantastic regardless of size, and all you have to do is measure and drill holes for two of the 3 140 fans (spacing is off). It's a $70 rad with more surface area than a 480, and costs less than a 480, while performing better (just get decent fans: Bgears Blasters 140mm 1800rpm are perfect for 140 rads).

Well after doing some more research I think I'll be getting a 420 rad, although i'm not 100% sure which one, I'd like to get a nice 60mm thick rad for maximum overclocking headroom.

I don't have a problem doing some modding as I have my handy dremel and drill ready.

I've decided that I wanna cool the chipset (sig rig) on my motherboard. Purely for aesthetic purposes. The only 2 options I've found are the:

Personally I prefer the look of the MIPS. Does anyone know of any other chipset blocks for the Asus z68 platform?

The #1 thing that sucks is I won't be able to cool the SB because the video cards will go directly over it blocking any tubing/connectors

That is the same exact loop order as mine, except that I am not currently using a motherboard block (will be adding a full board block for my R4E tho), and I don't like bay reservoirs so instead its an EK Multioption Res X2 Advanced 150 mounted to the right of the motherboard and the MCP35X mounted directly underneath. The order, layout, etc is the same though, and I have tested every tubing configuration and this is what I have determined to be the best as it requires the absolute smallest runs of tubing, allows for perfectly straight tubing (with angled fittings), and looks super clean.
