3DTV Play

Just bought the 3DTV Play software from nvidia to use on my 42" vizio... However, I am having troubles playing steam games in 3D...

I have my screen resolution set to 720p@60hz under the 3D one but when I enter a game it enters as the setting I had previously set for it which was normal 1080p, so when the game tries to run at 720 in 3D it is all off centered and way too big for the screen. Do I really have to set launch options on every game I want in 3D to 720p and then when I want to play in 3D set it back to 1080p? this seems very tedious and if that's the case, not even worth it... Also, nvidia control panel isn't allowing me to set a refresh rate above 60hz for normal video playback (not in 3d) why is that??
