I had an issue with the fan controller that came with my CM Storm Trooper and CoolerMaster support was able to get me a replacement. I made a huge mistake though, because I forgot how the broken one was originally wired. I tried a few different ways of wiring it up the new one, but I had trouble with screwing down the plastic housing since there were so many wires taking up space underneath. I ended up putting all the wires (except USB 3.0) through the slot near the handle, which worked, but a lot of pressure was still being put on the wires. This was on the back of my mind, so yesterday I removed the fan controller housing again, and I'm trying to figure out the appropriate way to route the wires. I was under the impression that they were all fed through the one side like this:
but the wires are making it impossible for me to screw down the housing --- there's just too much wiring bunched up under there. I'm just wondering how it's normally wired up. Also, I noticed little slots on either side of the X-Dock which seem to be where the USB 3.0 cables could go through (since there is one on each side of the fan controller housing)
Is that how the USB 3.0 cables should be routed? They touch the top of my DVD drive when they are routed that way, but it seems to make sense, unless they are just fed through either side of the X-Dock.
