Anyone have any experance with the Koolance MCP35X heatsink?

I just got in the final set of parts for my build and I was looking at the koolance MCP35X heatsink. I was wondering if I should install that rubbery pad like thing between the pump and the heatsink? It looks like it may actually insulate the bottom of the pump rather then improve thermal performance.

For reference this is what I am talking about



I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with it and could suggest what I should do thanks

It's a thermal pad. It's thick because the bottom of the pump/pcb was never meant to be directly cooled so the ic chips are all varying heights. Thus the pad has to make up for the differences.

Without that the Koolance HS will not work at all.....
