Emulation

Thread Starter
Hello,

Im not sure on OCN's policy about discussing emulation, please let me know if this is against the rules and i will delete the post. (if youre an admin and indeed emulation cannot be discussed here please close the thread.)

I have a retail GameCube game, and i dont own a gamecube or a wii, how could i play the game? is there any alternative to "dolphin"? This game does not run properly there.

EDIT: i can provide pics of the game with my username on top of it, to certify that i do own the game if necessary.

OCN Mods - If this post is deemed against the TOS please delete

As long as we are talking about using an emulator for running an officially licensed and legally obtained physical game disk that you own there are likely no issues as far as OCN's terms of service are concerned in discussing some of the details about how to accomplish this. smile.gif

I found myself in a somewhat similar situation after my original GameCube was damaged in a basement flooding incident sad-smiley-002.gif The replacement cube was a newer model that lacks the digital video port, not the end of the world as the component out cable was toast mad.gif, so I was stuck with blurry composite video only or running them on my Wii with black boarders until I figured out how to move my cube games onto my PC earlier this year when I bought a Wii and toyed around with the HomeBrew applications.

This is where the OCN TOS comes into play. I can't post exactly how to achieve this as it may be used for nefarious purposes by some and could be construed as going against the TOS but I can point you in the direction of the Wii homeBrew community Wiki where the necessary and legitimate tools reside for making a Wii do your bidding, be used as a server, run Linux, and even run homemade games.

It turns out that I could somewhat easily use the Wii to move my GameCube library to my PC smile.gif You can further reduce the size the GameCube games take on disk using the Gamecube ISO Tools application. I managed to get some games like Odama down to under 150Mb as most games don't actually use all 1.4Gb of the GameCube disc format. I hope that helps you out.

You can use your GameCube controller with your PC with one of these if you can find one, they are pretty rare now:
