Sapphire HD7870 OC GHZ edition crashing randomly

Recently i build a new system (8gb ram, i5 3570k, Asrock extreme4-m) with the sapphire HD 7870 Overclock Gigahertz edition. Every now and again (so far every time im gaming) the card crashes with a black screen and a buzzing noise i thought this might be because i overclocked it a bit too much the stock was 1050Mhz i boosted it up to 1200Mhz and i slowly lowered it because of the crashing now im at stock and its crashed so im worried that i got a bad card? is anyone having this issue? Is it a driver problem?

any help would be much appreciated

It seems like the 7870's have some sort of a problem unfortunately.

I have the same card and I have no problems what so ever. Try bringing your clocks back down to default wink.gif

If that don't work try reinstalling your drivers, if still got the problem, take the card in for a test down at your local store smile.gif

Yeah its stable at stock. I was unable to go back to catalyst 12.4 like ponitacGTX said because they didnt make a 64-bit version thanks for all the help guys
