10W per channel. Inadequate.

USB would do. Why waste a backplane slot? Any device on the backplane can interfere with your GPU cards. A little box somewhere that gets its power from Molex and interacts with the system by USB would be far more flexible.

Yea I was thinking 10w was a little low on that aquaero too. It's also a shame that you have to pay significantly more for a version that includes a heatsink for the resistors. And a waterblock for your cooling control unit is just ridiculous. But whaddya know, it exists so I guess everyone is happy.

Aquaero 5 has 20W/channel. 60W over all 4channels.
You can connect 6 extra PA2's with each 25W limit and ofc all 6 are also controllable from the main controller and aquasuite.

The heatsink can be bought seperately and the water block is only needed when you volt control pumps with it. The aquaero 5 is designed for watercoolers' needs and not so much for aircoolers' needs. The aquaero 5 itself can handle 50 120mm fans, each PA2 can handle another extra 20 120mm fans. Even if you build a case from fans, you won't need to control 170fans.

There exists nothing that can match the aq5+aquasuite or even comes close to it. It's the only tool out there if you have the need for it.

Lolwut?!?!

The Aquaero 5 can handle all the fans you'd ever need in a case, plus other things lie temp sensors, pumps, etc. I would hardly call it inadequate.

Ok I hate to necro my own post but I've been looking back over them (just found out about the rep system so I'm trying to catch up) and I found that I forgot to make a closing argument on this one.

So Aquaero is awesome and it works great and automates the whole fan control system for you. just one thing about it though. You know why the price is so high for a deluxe model, i.e. a unit that won't overheat (I mean honesty a cooling control system that overheats? Really?)? Because it's the only one on the market worth buying. Which, even given the fact that I didn't know about the aquaero, was the original inent of my post. Get on it manufacturers! Since this post I've learned about a unit that Bitfenix has recently come up with, however it is also based on temperature probes. So why. I don't care if this an argument for a niche issue in a niche market. Someone has to com along and try to compete with the Aquaero. This Bitfenix thing costs about $40, and that is with temperature probes and a color LCD screen.

Check it out, and then you tell me if it's competing with the Aquaero.

Here's a review where it is said that the software sucks. Not saying it does but they are tech people after all, so it's probably leaning that way.

1. Recently, as in Computex 2012? Quite a long time ago before this thread even started..
2. It's not competing with Aquaero. $40 vs $200 ($140 base screen)
3. Recon is a internet enabled fan controller using Windows Services. Those users who have trouble installing it is because of other programs preventing them from installing the service. In our office machines, we do not jump so many hoops to get it installed, but the instructions are there for people who need to jump.
4. Aquaero was specifically designed for those who watercool, those needing precision data and are willing to pay for it. Probes do the job its intended. If you want to know where one of the big chunks of where cost comes from, lets direct you to two pages:

@xbournex -

Thanks for the links and the info. I just looked at un-midas touch's link to your Recon, then followed it to look at your other accessories. Very impressive. I like that you make a USB3 adapter (from USB3 cable to mb header) and USB3 upgrades to your older cases. Good show!

As an example of what an accessory can do, here is my humble rig:

My case has its IO cluster on the top. But it sits under a shelf. So I moved my IO cluster to a then-$15 5.25-inch similar to your own card reader; but it has Mic/headphone jacks, an eSATA, 3 USB2's and an IEEE 1394. I'm looking for a USB3 replacement. I find lots of 3.5 front bay card readers, but few 5.25 like mine and yours. Also, many of us have USB3 backplane sockets but no USB3 headers. I'm seeing cases with USB3 headers. I haven't looked, but it would be nice to have adapters for converting USB3 headers to USB3 plugs.

Thanks for jumping in. I'm impressed with your company's offerings.

(Some of my reviews here, and on Vortez.net.)
