Aftermarket gpu coolers

Thread Starter
Hi everybody,

I'm having a problem with some older gpu's, I'm trying to get some after market coolers for my cards, ASUS ROG Radeon HD 5870 Platinum MATRIX 5870 P/2DIS/2GD5.

I've tried a couple like Zalman VF, Arctic accelero extreme plus II, and though they all told me that they would fit the cards, well, they all were wrong.
As these are non standard cards, it's not easy to find the right coolers, so I'm wandering if someone is willing to give me some advice on this?
Thanks.

Can you take a picture of your HD5870 and post in here, I can help you to check if icy vision can fit to your card or not.
I need two pictures:

1. Back side of the PCB
2. Top side of the PCB without stock cooler.

I need to check the GPU location and other capacitor's location for my measurement.

Again thank you.

Hi, iceminem

The fan socket locates at the left side of PCB, you can connect the icy fan plug to this socket or use the included adapter to connect the fan to motherboard/fan controller/PSU.

According to the below picture, ICY can fit to this card without conflict to card components. Although the fin module looks like overlap to the 6pins socket, but they won't touch each other because of the height different.

Yeah, I'm very satisfied with my xfirex setup, and the stock coolers aren't that bad, but the cards get to hot for my taste.

I had the Gelid Icy Vision on my old GTX 470 and it worked wonders. biggrin.gif Max temp was 70*C after being pushed to 875/1750/4000. God I miss that card. frown.gif
