CDOUBLEJJ is right on this one i have had a gtx 470 that had a small hole in the heat pipe and was running up too 120c + ended up taking it back and exchanging it at best buy and getting a new one.

Clean out the dust from it, make sure the fans are working, after that, reapply thermal paste (I prefer Arctic Cooling MX-4, no need to cure and works great!), and re-check your temps... Does your case have good air flow? Is anything obstructing the air flow? That is EXTREMELY hot...

It still baffles me that he actually SCRAPED OFF THERMAL PASTE AFTER he took off the heatsink, AND THEN TO PUT IT BACK ON WITHOUT REPLACING THERMAL PASTE. WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING?!!??!mad.gif
