660ti rail requirements?

According to what I have read, a 660ti requires at least 30 amps on a 12v rail. What does this equate to for a power supply with dual 12v rails with 18a?

I guess what I'm trying to ask is wether or not dual 12v rails with 18a enough to run a 660ti?

NVIDIA recommends a 450W PSU as minimum, so with your 500W Rocketfish PSU you might be ok. The reason I say "might" is that I don't know how good or bad it is. The last I heard, Rocketfish PSUs are to be avoided.

30A is 360W, but the rails can't be added together. Look for something on the specifications label that says what the +12V's total capacity is.

Thanks for the swift response. I am unsure of what the 12v's total capacity is. It is labelled on the box as "dual 12v rails with 18a". I'm not sure wether or not this helps.

I just looked at this PSU's manual, and it claims "+12V1 and +12V2, combined output not to exceed 36A" which is 432W. I don't know how good or bad this PSU is and whether or not it can be trusted with anything, but it definitely sounds like its capacity is enough.

The GPU usually says what it requires in consideration of an average system, so in theory you should be fine as you exceed the minimum specs. As long as you don't overclock any part of your system, you should be in the clear.

I just compared gtx 560 to gtx 660 ti and 660 uses same or lower power. So you are good.

PS: I looked at both 560 ti 448 and regular 560.

660ti rail requirements?
