Power Supply Suggestion

Sup guys?
So I need to get a new PSU as the old one is busted and the only **** available here in the local stores are Gigabyte Odin Pro 800W, Tt Smart 850W, Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1050W/1200W and Inwin Commander 850W. So Which one would be a better choice? As PSUs are generally heavy, it would cost alot to get something from the egg or amazon shipped here mad.gif. So I was looking to get either one of these.
I'll be using it in my Sig rig and I've plans for SLI.
The Toughpower Grand cost almost double than the Odin pro so if they are not worth the extra dough or if a Odin Pro/Smart 850/Inwin commander can do the job I'd like to save up that money for a XSPC Raystorm WC kit.
Thanks
Rakin.

Well if you have a microcenter near you, you're probably in the US so in that case you should probably use newegg. The shipping is generally only about 10$..

I'll list some good ones for you to choose from, and I can further refine my suggestions if you give some information such as budget.

From this list of Recommended PSUs However, the link isn't bringing it to a review page, so go here for a list of reviews, click one and see how most people talk about it.

Other than being recommended, I can't find any reviews on it.

Oh lol, by microcenter I meant the BCS Computer City, in Bangladesh. :| I thought micro-centers apply for all big buildings consisting of computer stores. Sorry for the mistake frown.gif And shipping from USA to BD costs roughly about 50$ through the links we have frown.gif

Ah, yea in the US there's a proper store called Microcenter that carries pretty good PC components. That's what I thought you were referring to, but it's OK.

Anyways, I'd probably go with the Odin Pro. I did some searching and it seemed like a decent unit, it compares to the toughpower 850w which is a decent PSU.

What version of InWin Commander are we talking about?.. the Silver rated Commander II?.. if so go with that, it shouldn't be expensive and it's a solid performer.

Also, try to contact Thermaltake, see if they're willing to help you with an RMA.

ps. you do realize you're running a <300W system, right?

The Commander II yes, but AFAIK its Bronze, or are there two versions? The Gigabyte is $30 cheaper here though, the Tt Smart and Inwin costs roughly the same. And I broke the warranty seal on my old unit and sleeved it hence they are not gonna RMA it. frown.gif
Yes I do, but I want to leave room for overclocking and have plans for 2x 670s in SLI.

Indeed it's sold as a Bronze unit, but it got Silver in the ECOVA test... doesn't really matter.... there's absolutely no reason to get an 850W unit unless you intend to go 3way 670s (and even then it would be more than you need)... 670s are very modest cards, power wise... a solid 600-650W unit will allow you to do w/e you want with them under normal cooling (non sub zero stuff).

Link the shop/s from where you intend to buy and let us have a look at what's on offer.

uh, okay. Here are the links of the shops.
http://www.binarylogic.com.bd/iw.html - Thermaltake
http://www.ucc-bd.com/products-1/search-brand/thermaltake.html - Inwin
http://www.smart-bd.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=40&Itemid=3 - Gigabyte
Could you pick one which would cover my needs? I can get thermaltake and Gigabyte units at a bargain, lower than whats listed there.
Thanks for all the help, I might be saving a bit afterall thumb.gif
