HD 7950 and GTX 670 are competitors. GTX 660 Ti is a lesser GPU and seriously crippled in bandwidth and ROP count. In games like Metro 2033 it performs slower than GTX 580 .

I personally went for it... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Z33SYA/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=037WYDJXHMYTY3HAE3VH&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1389517282&pf_rd_i=507846 $359.99 (was cheaper and had a -$10.00 coupon earlier but looks like it was removed)

($338.49 w/ shipping) 7950 vs 670 ($359.99 amazon) ALSO eligible for free borderlands 2.
GTX 670 Galaxy is the steal methinks wink.gif comes factory OC'd as well

TOTAL 743

That looks great man. Thanks a bunch. Just have a few tidbits to ask/add.

I also need to purchase a new case. I really just done like the viper I am using. Its very cluttered inside because of the small space.
That being said I looked around and found http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042 ...... That look decent for my new build?

And that will put me at around 800 solid. Ideally I didn't want to spend the max 800 but if this build will last me a while I think it would be a sound investment.

Any advice? If I wanted to save some money would it be worth it to downgrade the video card, or maybe I would just be wasting money in the long run doing that (Keeping in mind I will only be gaming casually) ?

I would recommend the ANTEC 302 . supports video cards upto 12.5 inches. the ANTEC 300 supports only cards upto 11 inch. ANTEC 302 also has tool-less 5.25 bays.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5462/antec-three-hundred-two-stay-cool-budget-enthusiasts/7

" Still, at $79 this isn't quite the homerun I'm looking for. At $69 it'd be a good deal, and at the $59 the current Three Hundred sells for, it'd be a steal. If you're an enthusiast on a budget, though, the Three Hundred Two should be on your short list."

Amazon is selling the ANTEC 302 for USD 60 with free super saver shipping.

http://www.amazon.com/Antec-Three-Hundred-Two-Gaming/dp/B006TVQTHW

definitely go for the ANTEC 302. thumb.gif

And don't change the graphics card. in fact games coming out next year like Crysis 3 and Metro Last light are going to be very demanding and all this performance would be required. Whenever you buy a graphics card over provision so that future games play well.

I would like to also say that Raghu's Build Suggestion is flawless.

You could do less by going with a 775 quad core processor, but the problem there is poeple areselling them pretty much Unfairly priced. And the reason why is because even the masic 775 Quad Cores are still keeping up in gaming world.

Even my wifes Q9300 isnt noticiably different from my i7 is the average game setting. but agian, you will be ripped off if you buy 775 quads.

Building the i5 is a solid build. that proc is strong. Im a firm believer in the Hyper Threaded i7, but if the price is not right, the speed of the i5 will certainly do more than fine.

I also agree with the 7950 GPU over the 660ti GPU, basically, either go 7950, or GTX 670.

Cases are always in the eye of the beholder and cannot make much recomendation for you there.

But this is pretty well guaronteed, that this build is worth the time and th emoney to go from where you are currently, there is just no benefit to dual cores anymore, and you will end up in the land of bottelenecks when adding new GPU's to that current system of yours.

You should also try to sell the current Sig Rig to help pay for it, if possible of course, otherwise our Freebies section loves donations ;p

So....for instance say I just said hell with it and decided to spend $70ish more dollars on this baby......would the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115070 be the best investment I could make with that extra money?

No. Would be like setting $50 on fire. (just double checked to make sure you didn't mention video editing...phew)

Heck, a 3470 would likely be more than enough (though really the 3570k's price is too close to everything to not be the default winner).

Unless you run 3d rendering, video encoding and other apps which can make use of 8 threads the 2600k is not worth the extra money. For gaming there will be no difference because most games don't use more than 4 threads. also if you go for 2600k it might be better to get DDR3 1333 Mhz because officially DDR3 1600 is not supported on 2600k. Only ivybridge has official support for DDR3 1600.

That is the ram you want it is a hott item for the past year. Although it doesnt have a sweet heat spreader, and the specs online are not so good the ram actually can reach 2400 speed ram 2x or 3x what you are running now.

Even if you run it at 1600 the timings automatically set by my motherboard went to 999-24

I have mine set to an odd speed of 1977 because I'm overclocking a celeron processor through bclk. Also they are so very tiny
