Cooling Northbridge on X58A UD3R w/Phanteks venting up

I'm finding it problematic keeping my northbridge 45-60c.
Was getting 70-80c but that came down to 55-65c by removing the blue covers from heatsinks. Add a 92mm fan at 900rpm setting on GPU and blowing under Phanteks from ram side to get 45-60 but it really messes up the clean case look. ;p

Thinking maybe a custom duct with a nice quiet 40mm fan pushing air onto bottom of heatsink.

Anybody got any good ideas? Maybe some pics?

I too pulled the blue cover from the NB heatsink as I noticed it was getting very very toasty.

To cool it further I chucked a Spotcool fan in there.
Temps are now a chilly 45c @ idle

I have sense moved on to X58A-UD5 with 12GB (3x 4GB) Crucial Ballistix RAM and had similar but not as extreme NB heat issues (58-65c). Ram is low enough I turned Phanteks to vent out back, cut out back vent and build a duct from cooler to vent. Work great!

Again removed blue covers and temps dropped to 50-54c. Then built a square box/duct from motherboard to bottom of cooler on ends and up sides to bottom of fan shroud to keep air in except for openings for each of the heatsink / heatpipe radiators soair from bottom part of intake fan below fins blows out through them. Now 48-51c.
