help raising white point?

I have a dell 3007wpf-HC monitor ( 30" 2560x1600 ) which is amazing except for one thing, the colors are very 'warm' brightcolor objects look great, but whites look very dull and slight yellowish, and games like BF3 ( which have an already warm tone to all the colors to give a gritty dirty look to things ) looks too warm. I have no OSD, and have to use software for setting everything on the display.

I have to calibrate using Nividia settings, and unfortunately, Nvidia doses not have a 'color temperature' slider.

Ive already tuned the RBG sliders in favor of the blue and that has helped some, but not as much as I would like.
and killing the lights in the room seem to help some too, but when the lights are on, its pretty obvious, and then on a 30" screen, its just painful.

Does anyone know of anything that can help me out?

Everything I've read sas that the stock white point is between 5700-5900, and I would like to be around 6500

Euhm... it is? / was? such an expensive monitor and it does not even have OSD... euh....

Good thing to know!

I tought about any monitor had OSD???!!!

I know I'll check that first when I'm about to buy one!!!

Thx for giving me insight (sorry could not be of any help tho...)

EDIT: you can also change "some" settings in the game's settings tho... Maybe there's another way to get to a point you can live with...

Also: did it just happened "overnight" or can it be after an software update (driver)

well, its an old display ( came out in '07 i think ) and basically was set up very similar to the 30" apple displays, where you could control the monitor through the brands computer ( can adjust using a dell computer ) but even that was limited. it was supposed to be perfect right out of the box, but just like anything else, its subjective to the user.

There are two versions of this monitor, the version I have is supposed to be the High Color model, but it seems the white ballance is less on the high color version.

Yeah... like every sales man will try to tell ya...

There product IS the best and will NEVER break down...

But the moment it DOES break down, then the warranty starts and what does the sales man say? Oh sir, we can't do this or that....

Anyway there's no 3th party software to calibrate it a bit?

No idea if this will help, a quick skim reading told me it might. A bit more reading is required but I don't have the time atm to do it myself. Sorry. :/

Edit- I just saw the cost of the software... You might be able to acquire it by other means for less.ph34r-smiley.gif
