Alright, this is a bit weird to me. Here is the deal: I have recently started a new PC build and came upon a weird issue and don't know if it's PSU or CD-Rom related.
I am using a Coolmax 1200w PSU

Specs:

Anyways, I was using this PSU on my old build as well. Well, it's the same build actually, except I've switched over to a watercooling loop (CPU+GPU) and a new Full Tower case.
The main molex and SATA power cables from the PSU are all being used by other components so I plugged additional SATA connectors into the PSU (since it's semi-modular).
This brings us to the issue. When I powered up the system, I immediately noticed smoke coming out of the CD-Rom Sata power connector so I unplugged it real quick. I've noticed that I forgot to plug the Sata3.0 cable into the motherboard
so I thought this is the reason smoke was coming out of the CD-Rom. I plugged the 3.0sata into the motherboard and once again, there was smoke coming from the CD-Rom where the power adapter connects to.
I don't know if I just have a bad CD-Rom or if something is wrong with the power cable. I have not had any issues with either the power connector nor CD-Rom drive prior to switching the components over to the new case and installing the water loop.
Thinking that the power connector was the issue, I tried a different PSU but had smoke pouring out of the Cd-Rom power connector again. What could be going on?
