[THG] New Android PC-On-A-Stick - Page 6

Think how this will affect the Hotel Market! Imagine accessing the Hotels Video cache and streaming it right to the TV in your room! Or the traveling business exec. No need to lug around a laptop anymore. Just a collapsible keyboard with a finger pad.

I would have to agree, this is sort of something that you should have on you at all times lol

Kind of like I have a copy of HIRENS everywhere I go lol

I did not realize before that it was a video output, i figured another USB one.

Someone said it would stutter? I wonder what he means

Wouldnt this work a HELL of alot better than using my PS3 for web bvrowsing and streaming video???

Until they can do something about storage it is limited to what you do. Your cache would be low so it would not be that fast on some sites with a lot of graphics. If you wanted to just surf the web and check email without the option of downloading attachments this could be a great thing for a person on the go. I just wonder why this technology is just not added to every cell phone. All you would really need is to add the ports for a mouse, keyboard and the optional hdmi connection and you have your all in one tool. Built in phone, internet and microphone is already in place.

You already can add a blue tooth mouse and keyboard with HDMI out to a phone unless I'm not following you correctly?

If that is true, this is a useless commodity.

Depends on your carrier, it could be free.

You can't really compare this device to a smart phone...can it dial 911 or display something with bringing a monitor with you? It is like complaining your cheap coffee maker can't make a latte.

This is a device meant to replace some older, or low powered, PCs and drastically increase the portability. Not to mention all of the industrial uses...there is a lot of machinery and equipment out there that have controllers built in them with CPUs. You could toss one of thins into the design for less money and it would likely be more powerful.

I like this thing...if I could think up a use for one in my house hold I would jump on it, but I know it would just be something I would play with for a day or so and put in a drawer.

If it is a device meant to replace some older, or low powered, PCs I would think the same person may not have an hdmi capable connection to use it. I still think it is a cool idea but the more I think about this thing it is like the difference between going to a store and buying a really nice watch or getting one in your happy meal.
