The Rosewill Capstone is a way better PSU at a comparable price so your suggestion makes no sense.

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=52176&vpn=M12II%20620&manufacture=Seasonic%20Electronics

$79.99 Seasonic M12II 620W

Or on the more efficient side

$131 Seasonic X560

I agree with the what Original Sin posted, that unit will be cheaper then both of my options and perform perfectly.

option A: Corsair AX650 - $147.94
option B: OCZ FATAL1TY 1000w - $159.99 (discounted as a bundle offer)
There is quite a difference in wattage between the 2, but I have no experience with OCZ. I personally use a Corsair AX series PSU and love it.
The OCZ seems like it is a better "deal" considering the regular price. The OCZ also has individually-sleeved cables. But if the rig does not require more than 650w to run - which I believe it does not - I really couldn't care less. Basically what I am wondering is if OCZ is a reputable/quality PSU.
I will be powering a Sabertooth Z77 mobo, a 3570K and a single 7970 GPU among the rest of the components.
Thanks in advance for your vote/input. I am also open to other PSU suggestions, but prefer to order from NCIX as it is local and the rest of the parts are being ordered from them. thumb.gif

People dont seem to like OCZ here.

I'm using a 500 watt stealthxtreme that's about 3-4 years old on my other rig and never had any problem whatsoever.

The Capstone is a way better PSU than the M12II and at least as good as the X-650. With the current prices you guys in the USA have on the egg for it, it's a no-brainer.

I know its a far better unit, the OP asked if he could get it at NCIX because it is local, and unfortunately Rosewill is a Newegg specific brand.

Thanks a bundle to everyone for your suggestions! I went for an XFX 550W for $49.99. I would have grabbed the Rosewill from Newegg as it looks like a gem, but we are tight on time and Newegg ships most stuff from the USA. We don't have time for it to clear customs and whatnot.

Thanks again, this is why I love OCN thumb.gif

XFX Pro850W XXX is 80+ Silver, Seasonic made and retails for $122 @ amazon.
Got mine with the rebate for $20, but I think that's over now - still a great deal, cheaper and future proof-er than the 650W without sacrificing anything. Efficiency differences are negligible.

It is "Semi-modular", but plz, you would use the 24pin and at least one of the 8pin cables anyways. Any half decent midi case will let you "hide" the rest out of sight.
