It should be close to the Samsung S27A850D since it uses the same PLS technology (and most likely the identical panel). I'm interested to see if it has the 16-bit LUT and extensive calibration features that the S27B970D has.

I'm also curious to see if it uses PWM dimming or not, as I am rather sensitive to flicker.

Hi guys. I actually just accidentally reposted this news thread with a different source.

According to ROG from Asus the monitor ships September.

Ooh, I wonder whether this will be a better option than the U2711. thinking.gif

I'm still waiting for a 1440p monitor that's 21-24inches.

The look of this monitor does not make me feel like buying it.

Yup.

My $289 Shimian looks great.

You're insane. Text would not be readable on a 24" screen unless you use 300% fonts. To be clear, i'm using a 2560x panel right now (both x1440 and 1600)

Just let go of your 21 inch crapbox monitors already

I thought a 27" display would just be too huge on my desk, so I never went above 22". Then I found out about these Shimian displays and figured, why not?

So glad I did, the size is actually just right, it felt giant at first, but I quickly adjusted. Now going to another system with a smaller display and/or lower resolution is just brutal. Much like when I use a system that doesn't have SSD's in it......feels like dial-up!
