So should I buy the game? Or is it just hype? I barely played the first GW nd im looking for a new mmo.

I find the game like what a multiplayer final fantasy should have been - awesome story with lots of different storylines based on your character, and good multiplayer interaction.

IMO it's just hype. It feels like they took ideas from most other past MMOs, castrated them all and globbed them together in a mediocre pile of boring. If you want a casual game you can play with friends and don't want to try while playing, you might wanna check it out. If you want something engaging, challenging, or competitive, look elsewhere.

I bought it in hopes it would meet my standards like GW1 did. I hit level 8 and I flipped my crap and raged all day. Why? Because it is so repetitive; go to this kill him, go to that kill her...

Yes I know its an MMO and most are like that, but cmon man, 5 years in development and you didn't make a splashing intro? ***?!

I haven't played since because I got bored with it, maybe some of you guys who are higher level could tell me if the rest of the game is like this... typer.gif

Heres the problem ppl are so use too your standard mmo, they don't seem to know how to play this game, to make it worse Anet didn't make much effort in intro the player to the game, its only repetitive because you make it, because your playing it like you would play any other mmo, to gain exp you can Explore, Craft, Do the Hearts, do the main story quest and pvp, you just need to mix them and all of them are quite rewarding, I'v seen players leveling from 60 to 80 just by crafting, it gives you allot of freedom, but no indication or even teach the players how to use it, so most players that are very use to other mmos like WOW take a while to figure it out, that they are playing the game wrong. Once you do it and find your own pace this game is loads of fun.

The above comment is exactly right ( to me ). I was doing the same thing with this game when I finally figured it out. Stop playing it like WoW and you will enjoy the game more. The game is awesome its plagued with new game itis but I think it will iron itself out in the next couple weeks when the MASS figures out how to play right.

One thing this game did teach me is that I need a bigger screen maybe dualies. I have a dell 2407 or 2405 coming in from work from our investment recovery center. It will go nicely next to my dell 2209wa.

Wall of text in previous posts amaze me by how people are disappointed that this is not another wow clone and standard tank/heal/dps mmo.

I've never played WoW and never will. I would rather die.

I come from playing every mmo out there, from the videos I watched that lead me into buying made it seem like that was all there was. Thanks.

I'm not sure about GW2 yet. It's a bit different than other MMORPGs I've played, and not all of it is in a good way. The combat seems... clunky at times, like there's a slight (but noticeable) delay between pressing a button and your character using a skill.

That aside, when this huge worm boss spawned yesterday in Caledon forest and a bunch of players worked together to beat it, that was classic MMORPG fun thumb.gif
