i had UPS and because the line had bad signal the voltage would drop and raise a lot and cause the UPS to click a lot and it wears the batteries down faster. Installed Line Conditioner and 100% problem solved.

A line-interactive UPS with AVR will solve this problem smile.gif

Nice coincidence. I was just about to post here to say I remembered (read: happened to look under the desk and saw/remembered) that I have a Monster surge protector plugged in, before the UPS; So Outlet > Monster > UPS (hey, it's Kansas. We get a butt ton of lightening biggrin.gif). Could this be the issue? Thanks for all of the info thus far guys, I appreciate it. Once I get some money together, I'll do some searching and post back for thoughts.

I doubt it - I always stick a surge protector/fancy power strip even before my UPSes... smile.gif

I think I found the answer:

A UPS manufacture:
Quote:
Problems can occur when using simulated sine wave UPS systems with more sensitive devices and electronic equipment. When on battery power, higher-end workstations and computer systems that incorporate Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) power supplies may unexpectedly shut down or crash entirely when used with a simulated sine wave UPS.
.
.
.
Simulated sine wave output wave form produces a zero-output state during the phase change cycle resulting in a power "gap." This gap may cause power interruption for equipment with Active PFC power supplies when switching from AC power output to simulated sine wave output (battery mode).

The AX750 specs:
Quote:
Active Power Factor Correction (PFC)

The only thing I haven't verified yet is whether or not my UPS utilizes a "simulated sine wave". I sounds like something cheaper models would use, so mine very well may.

**Edit** Just checked the Cyberpower website and yes, my unit does use a Simulated Sine Wave.

Generally consumer or SoHo grade UPS will be pure-sinewave - these are usually server grade UPSes. Although I have seen some cheaper ones with pure-sinewave, which is interesting.
EATON Evolution UPSes are pure-sinewave if you want to look into one of those - but they carry a nice price tag.

With that said, my EATON Nova UPS works just fine with my AX750, so... go figure!

Thanks for the help.

I found this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842102131

I think I'll pick one up. I found the 600W version on Amazon for the same price. It's pure sine wave, so it should work (also recommended by the manufacture in the Newegg feedback concerning an issue similar to mine.)

Looks great - pure sine wave and AVR/line-interactive. No chance of supplying 1000W though... but I suspect you've changed how you are going to be used it tongue.gif

E: I think I was talking about another thread there...
