Raystorm vs Supreme hf copper for 3930k?

Thread Starter
Hi,
my raystorm failed to arrive today (slow post) so i was wondering if i should just get a refund and buy a different block.

Would the EK Supreme HF or supremacy be better than the raystorm for a 3930k? i have read that it is the best for low restriction which to my understanding would be best if i am going to be having multiple blocks and rads. The one thing that has made me reconsider is the bow on the raystorm.

EDIT: i just read somewhere that the raystorm does not fit on the RIVE? can someone confirm this?

The bow is suppose to be on the raystorm. I have the raystorm on 2 build and I have no complaints. The raystorm has low restriction the DT Sniper has low retriction as well I believe. I am not sure on the hive question

It fit pretty good when I used one.

The raystorm has an extreme amount of bow which might make it harder to get even contact on the heatspreader.

So would you recommend me returning the raystorm and getting the ek supremacy or supreme hf?

I have the XSPC Raystorm on my ASUS Rampage IV Extreme and it fits with no problems. I also have the EK full board water block it installed.

Here is a photo of it mounted on the board.

Raystorm will work extremely well, I would worry more about your rad, fan and pump configuration. Temp difference between the the top 5 CPU blocks is about 1-1.5 degrees, if you are worried about the bow in the block install it and then take it off to see how the tim spread is on the cpu. You can always lap it a little bit and get it almost perfect, make sure you use a good tim for final install such as MX4. Hope your build turns out great and expect to see some pics and results soon ! thumb.gif

i have a new tube of as5, i do not want to have to take off the cpu block once i have put it all together though, i am scared enough about doing the watercooling in the first place, i want to touch it as little as possible xD
getting a new block is not a problem as it will arrive on thursday, and pedestal and extended top for my case wont arrive till then either so i wont have to wait any longer, so if i can get a better block for the same price i will smile.gif
