12v switch mod, help needed!!

Thread Starter
Hey guys n gals, not posted for a while but I need some assistance!
Im currently working on a build and I'm planning on using up to 4 of these switches: eBay Item #: 270851350147

I'm not a master technian or electrician so I'm hoping someone here can help.
Basically I want to use one of these switches for the power and possibly as a reset button also.
How would I go about using it in this way?

Any help would be awesome!

Jim

connecting the leads, then flicking the switch on then off quickly once, that's about it, though if you want a simpler to use switch look for momentary military toggle switches, only problem is they aren't cheap since most people don't use military switched in that manner

you can use it for that without any trouble, you just have to remember to flick it off

edit: if you can find out the diameter of the switch cover opening to mount to the switch, you can just try to find a similar sized momentary switch, it might be cheaper like that

edit #2: you want to use one switch for both reset and power? you'll want a 2 way momentary

Thanks guys, that's really helpful, I had no idea it was that simple!
Just out of interest, is there anyway to use it one flick at a time?
I.e one flick turns it on and stays on and then another flick shuts it down?

Sorry for being difficult!

not with making/using a controller of some kind, and that switch is just the interface

I think one of these is more appropriate: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Buttons-Switches-Joysticks-COM-10545-Toggle/dp/B004VBT6RW

Have a read at the technical details.
