I was the same as you and RAZR is garbage in my opinion. I got a Logitech G9X after tons of reviews.

You might also like ROCCAT mice. They sell a 4000 DPI one which I am considering getting even though I just got the G9X

ROCCAT Savu pretty awesome.

I don't want a razer mouse. Horrible build quality that lasts 6-12 months before something craps out.
Hell I still have my old Logitech gaming mouse (early 2000s) working strong, but ofc it is not as good anymore lol.
I play shooters mainly, and I play a bit differently I guess. I snipe with about 2000dpi, assault/engi/support with 4000dpi, and fly with max 5600dpi on my naga. I like the naga, but it keeps on double clicking all the time to the point that I empty my freaking magazine or open a billion firefox windows.
I tried to fix it by opening it, but that only fixes it for like 30 min... This is my second naga in a year and honestly I'm done with razer. Their products are crap. I had a black widow keyboard that lasted about 9 months. I thought it was anti ghosting, except if I pressed three damn buttons at once then pressed just one more button, it would just not register anything... sigh... oh and the damn E key got stuck...
So glad I made the move to my new keyboard, the Max Nighthawk X9. Way better mechanical keyboard...
Anyway I am looking for a gaming mouse with at least five buttons (more buttons the better, I have a ton of macros and the naga was great for that) and with sensitivity between 2000 and 5600+ dpi. As long as it is within $100-150 I'll buy it as long it isn't a piece of crap.

Hi,

Based on your needs, there are absolutely no need for you to buy a mouse without acceleration. If somebody tells you that X or Y mice has accel, dont listen to them because at that level of DPI (2000 - 4000) there is no way you will notice it.

How do you hold your mice? Do you prefer ergonomic or ambidextrous? Do you want load and loads of features (weights, LEDs etc) or dont really care?

If you are a palm gripper, the best mouse that I can think of, ergonomic-wise, is the Naos 5000.

I bought a Corsair M60 when my Razer Imperator started having issues, and I absolutely love it.

Check the for sale thread a guy just put up a G400 The shapes are very similiar I'm guessing they used the same mold to make the G400 button layout similiar too.

OP game at 4000 DPI. He dont need a mouse that have no acceleration AND jitter at 3500 DPI.

I use the corsair vengeance M60 mouse , it has a button for 3 speeds , aluminum bottom , 3 weights and a sniping thumb button for quick lowering dpi , the wheel has very distinctive notches so you feel if your scrolling weapons

After a long time of use, micro switches will wear out and you'll get double clicks. This has happened to my Logitech mice, and my Razer mice.

The DeathAdder was great, but I believe the Imperator is more controllable for FPS purposes. I wouldn't ever pay full price for a Razer product (mice are cheap as heck to build), so I typically buy used or refurb'd, and they last me at least 3 years.

I purchased a CM Storm Xornet that went on sale on Newegg for $12 after MIR, and it's a solid mouse as well. Definitely smaller, but still very capable.

Have a look at this mouse, it looks really solid : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APE7ngUQuj8&feature=plcp

It's the exact same shape and feel even same scroll wheel.

One big difference is the Dpi also the Mhz but I think it went from 250 to 1000 in the G400

G400 is 3600dpi

mx518 V2 1800dpi

mx518 1600dpi

I have run all of mine at 800dpi even the G400. Sometimes in Bf3 if i need to spin a turrent quickly i click it up to 3600dpi

The g400 is the best so far as it has massive feet on the bottom and slides really well.

Going from the mx518 to G400 feels exactly the same just fresh and crisp.

Again worst part is they didn't implement the newer g9 style scroll wheel.

If they did it would be perfection. If I had to choose something other than a G400 I would go G9
