How long does it usually take you to get an RMA from xfx?

Hi guys,

I have a bad 8600GT (PV-T84J-UDF3) that is bad with blown caps and it has been 5 days since I have created a support ticket and I still don't have an RMA! I work with computers so I have a lot of equipment, some it like this card my own, some of it my customer's.

I won't bad mouth xfx quite yet but I will say that most other companies give me an RMA same day or next day. What about you guys, how long do you normally have to wait for an RMA (return merchandise authorization)?

Both my RMA experiences were horrid with XFX, and took many weeks. Frankly 5, if business, days just to get an RMA authorization is a bit out of line, typically the authorization part is quick, it is the shipping and testing that takes the longest.

An entire RMA process should take between 2 and 3 weeks, XFX exceeded a month for me. I can tell you from personal experience to stay on top of them and be ever persistent.

I complained a little bit about how long it was taking and a different agent than the one who had initially been responding to me created my RMA.

I was a little shocked how slow they were and how the first guy seemed to want to throw up a lot of road blocks. I work at a break/fix shop that also sells retail computers and equipment, so I have to create RMAs a lot. Most of our suppliers will give me an RMA same day or the next business day. This was a 5 day wait and only happened after I started to complain. Of course I will still have to package it up, ship it out, and wait for them to send me a replacement.

I will reserve judgement on this whole process until they send my a working replacement card, I will update this thread with details afterwards.

Hopefully they will give you a proper replacement, unlike my situation where they sent inferior cards back and tried to pawn them off as just as good.

I had a problem with an 7600GT once. They had an RMA to me within 3 days, and a replacement within 2-3 weeks or so. They gave me a 9500GT in its place. You'll probably get a 9600GT or the 2XX series equivalent. I'd shoot them another e-mail though, definitely.
