Hey help me out guys I have the Sennheiser PC 360 and my cousin has the Audio Technica ATH-M50S. He says he hears a big difference but I don't really hear to much, he giving his tons of credit I don't really get. There actual specs are close. Anybody actually know about both of these cans?

No one person has the same hearing as another. What sounds great to me, may not sound the best to you.

What songs are you using? Also sound fidelity isn't just based on the frequency response (e.g amount of bass, mids and treble and how they relate to one another), others such as soundstage depth, width, imaging etc....

I am using different genre crappy MP3 192Kbps+, some being 320. I have 3 24 bit 9something khz Red Hot Chili Pepper songs and haven't given those a shot yet.

You need to try them out. What sounds good to someone else, may sound like crap to you. The HFI-580s came highly recommended and said to have good bass, I picked them over ATH-M50s. Well the bass is terrible with them, they have virtually no bass at all. They are the 8th pair of headphones purchased in my hunt. My next target are the Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO.

I've got the sennheiser 280 pros and they have a very nice solid bass to them smile.gif

So far I have found over the ear can't beat earphones when it comes to Bass. My Yamaha EPH-100s and EPH-50s sound amazing. Its just I can only wear earphones for so long before my ears start to hurt. Plus they have a habit of falling out when I jog.

Of if you want something for jogging I wouldn't recommend the 280 than haha. Try them out though, they're meant for DJ's. They got gerat bass

If I went with Senn I would go for HD 600s or HD 650s.
